Represented by Bren eSports for Mobile Legends Bang Bang (MLBB) and Neon eSports for DOTA 2, the Philippines dominated over teams in other Southeast Asian countries in two events and almost completed a sweep in the Razer SEA Invitationals 2020 held last July 10-12, 2020. These players have competed against Vietnam, represented by Vec Fantasy Main (MLBB) and 496 Gaming (DOTA 2) in a best-of-five series finals.

The DOTA 2 Finals saw the Philippine and Vietnamese teams on the edge with Neon eSports and 496 Gaming trading blows, kills and wins which forced the series to go to Game 5. However, on that round, the PH squad was able to recover its winning form and overwhelm 496 Gaming with 64 kills to 22 with PlayHard's Ember Spirit and Skem's Bloodseeker leading the charge. On the other hand, the MLBB Finals was unbelievably as tense as the DOTA 2 Finals if you happen to watch it online. Bren eSports was able to earn a spot in the finals after defeating Team Myanmar in the semifinals on the morning of July 12th in hopes of avenging its loss to Vec Fantasy Main on the first day of the invitationals.

Similar to what transpired in the DOTA 2 Finals, both Bren eSports and Vec Fantasy Main have traded wins; thus, eventually locked the series to a Game 5. Fortunately, a mid-game rally by KarlTzy (Claude) and FlapTzy (Masha) literally turned the tide over the Vietnamese team and succeeded in its rematch. Fifteen-year old wunderkind KarlTzy would end the game with 11 kills, one assist and two deaths. Vietnam, however, would not walk away from the tournament empty-handed as it conquered over its competitors and eventually won gold in the invitational's PUBG Mobile finals held last July 5th.

The Razer SEA Invitationals 2020 is a regional multi-game tournament organized by the world-renouned gaming brand with a prize pool of US$5,00) at stake. In an interview with SPIN.ph, Razer's Global Gaming Director David Tze stated that the event is organized as a platform where professional gaming athletes in the region can gain more experience and prepare for the next medal eSports events. Team Philippines have won gold in both DOTA 2 and MLBB events of the 2019 Southeast Asian Games held last December in the country.
