After three years of living and pursuing her dreams in South Korea, Filipina singer and former UNIS member Gehlee Dangca is officially back in the Philippines to embark on an exciting new chapter in her career — one that will see her pursuing opportunities both in the Philippines and on the international stage.

Gehlee first captured international attention through Universe Ticket, the global survival program that formed the K-Pop girl group UNIS. Her journey began when SBS approached Universal Records Philippines to scout Filipino talents for the competition. Among those who auditioned, Gehlee secured her place in the program and quickly emerged as a standout contestant, garnering the highest number of votes. She was ultimately called to fill the fourth debut spot among the eight members selected to form UNIS. In March 2024, Gehlee officially debuted as a member of UNIS and spent the next two and a half years based in Korea, gaining valuable experience as a performer and K-pop artist while reaching audiences around the world. Now, as she is back in her home country to finish school, fans can look forward to seeing more of Gehlee in Philippine media and entertainment with upcoming activities and projects that will allow audiences to discover more sides of the young artist. Her return marks an exciting opportunity for Gehlee to reconnect with Filipino fans while continuing to grow her career and explore new opportunities in her home country and internationally.

Gehlee will continue her partnership with Universal Records Philippines as her recording label with GLXY Talent Management, the talent management arm of Universal Records, and Star Horizon TV Production overseeing her management in the Philippines. Both management teams have been involved in supporting her career even before her journey in Korea and will continue to work together in developing new opportunities for her in the Philippines. She joins the growing roster of international talents represented by Universal Records and GLXY including Korean stars Kim Myung Soo (L) and Choi Bo Min, as well as Thai internet sensation Aon Somrutai, who rose to popularity with her viral catchphrase “Thank you, Kateyki.”, among others. With her international experience, growing fanbase, and homecoming to the Philippines, Gehlee is ready to begin an exciting new chapter — this time, closer to home. Fans can stay tuned for her upcoming media appearances, projects, and activities in the Philippines.

Eraserheads: Combo On The Run, the acclaimed music documentary chronicling the legacy of the Eraserheads, has earned another international distinction with director Maria Diane Ventura receiving the Best International Director Award at the Long Island Music & Entertainment Hall of Fame (LIMEHOF) Music Documentary Film Festival in New York. The recognition came as the film was screened at the annual LIMEHOF Music Documentary Film Festival last September 27, 2026 followed by a special post-screening conversation featuring Ventura and Eraserheads frontman Ely Buendia.

According to Ventura, the recognition is particularly important because Combo On The Run documents an important chapter in Philippine pop culture history: one that deserves to be shared with a wider global audience. She said, “Every recognition Combo on the Run receives still feels a little surreal to me. We made a film that is deeply rooted in our culture, our music and our collective experience as Filipinos, so to watch it continue to travel and connect with audiences outside of home is incredibly meaningful. More than the award itself, I’m grateful that the film continues to create space for our stories and our artists on an international stage. I’ve always believed in the power and brilliance of Filipino talent. If Combo on the Run can contribute even a little to bringing more attention to that, then every difficult decision, sleepless night and challenge it took to make this film has been worth it.”

The latest accolade adds to the documentary’s growing list of global recognitions. Following its theatrical run in the Philippines and subsequent international screenings, Combo On The Run continues to introduce the Eraserheads’ story to audiences outside the Philippines, with its universal storytelling at the center. Produced by DVent Productions, Eraserheads: Combo On The Run reinforces the production’s commitment to bringing Filipino music, films, and entertainment to a global level. DVent’s recent activities have also extended into large-scale live entertainment including its co-production of the Ely Buendia and Chito Miranda concert in Dubai (with Live Nation and Tiana) which drew a sold-out crowd at the Coca-Cola Arena last August 30, 2026.

Fern.’s ‘Kahit Na Umulan’ Enjoys Renewed Virality With Humorous TikTok Trends And Music Video Release

Nostalgia is finding its way back into the Filipino music conversation, with the sounds and sensibilities of late-’90s and early-2000s R&B now reimagined for the modern audience. Among the songs benefiting from this renewed interest is Fern.’s “Kahit Na Umulan” which has recently found new life on TikTok through the unexpected Dinorobong Tubo dance trend, Dante Gulapa’s Flying Eagle take on the track, and the platform’s humor-driven remix culture.

Its newfound virality reflects TikTok’s unpredictable role in music discovery where songs can shift between sincerity and humor and reach audiences far beyond their original release cycle. According to the Filipino artist-producer, the renewed attention came unexpectedly. While traveling home from Canada, he noticed the trend taking off during his connecting flights and later saw its impact in the song’s streaming numbers. Fern. says, “All of a sudden it became a trend, but none of those are controlled by us. We put the song out there, and I think people have just gotten accustomed to my vibe, sound, and brand.” The timing of “Kahit Na Umulan” also coincides with a broader appetite for warmer, more emotionally driven music. Fern. attributes the renewed appeal of romantic R&B to the cyclical nature of musical taste. He points out, “People are getting tired of fast, upbeat stuff. The heartfelt ones are making a huge comeback. It’s a cycle.” The song’s pairing with the humorous Dinorobong Tubo trend further shows how contemporary audiences engage with music, letting a single track function as a romantic throwback, a source of humor, and an entry point into another era. The MANILA SOUL adventurist admits, “It’s funny and unexpected, but I rode with it.”

With the song gaining traction online, Fern. and his team released the music video for “Kahit Na Umulan”, shot in Canada a few months ago. Developed with Fern.’s close creative direction, the video translates the song’s romantic atmosphere into rainy, sensual imagery and reinforces his interest in millennial R&B visual storytelling, cinema, pop culture, and humor. For Fern., the resurgence aligns with his decision to pursue greater creative independence and develop music from a more personal perspective. “I’m planning to take what I have now and do what feels original on my end. I’ve finally figured out where I’m coming from.”

Dylan Enters His Romantic Era With Self-Titled Debut EP

Former “Pinoy Big Brother: Gen 11” housemate Dylan Yturralde ventures into the music scene with his self-titled debut EP “Dylan”, a collection of songs that captures the beauty and messiness of love. The rising Kapamilya artist, who has a penchant for vintage and old-soul music, hopes to showcase his romantic side and let listeners connect with the different facets of love through his songs. “Gusto kong maramdaman nila yung pagiging romantic ko. Gusto kong maramdaman nila yung pagmamahal. Kunwari nagye-yearn sila for love, they can just listen to the EP,” said Dylan.

Produced by StarPop label head Roque “Rox” Santos and now available worldwide on digital music streaming platforms, “Dylan” EP explores loving, losing, finding one’s way back, and learning to move forward through its five pop tracks: “Hulog Ng Langit” composed by Ato Arman, “Ngayon” written by Trisha Denise, “Halata Naman Na” penned by Dennis Campañer, “Pikit” composed by Gio Ravelo, and “Dito Ka Lang” written by Ron Pangyarihan. “Ngayon” serves as the collection’s key track, an intimate love song about finding comfort and peace in simply being with a loved one, without the need to define what the future holds. Among the EP’s songs, he revealed that “Ngayon” holds a special place in his heart, sharing, “Yung song na ‘yon ang nagbigay sa akin ng meaning. Kailangan focus muna tayo sa ngayon. Huwag nang problemahin ang bukas. Kung masyado nating iisipin ang bukas, hindi natin ma-eenjoy ang moment na ito.” The EP is Dylan’s first musical project following his stint as the “Astig Volleybae ng Pampanga” in “PBB”. The Star Magic artist and former member of the UE Men’s Volleyball Team also previously starred in the iWant series “Love At First Spike”.

Dylan is grateful for the new opportunities and blessings that have come his way this year, particularly the chance to share his gift of singing, excitedly sharing, “Excited ako sa mga dumarating na blessing sa akin kasi bago ang lahat. Sa All Star Games, I played basketball. I haven’t played competitive basketball before. Ngayon may sarili na akong kanta. Makikita ko na yung sarili ko sa Spotify. You are never ready; kailangan matapang ka lang at i-enjoy mo ang process at dapat mahal mo ang ginagawa mo.”
