ABS-CBN has further cemented its stature as the Philippines' leading content provider for both news and entertainment after receiving its second Diamond Creator Award from YouTube. ABS-CBN News received a diamond play button last November which is given to creators that has reached the ten-million subscriber mark. The said mark was achieved last August and it now has more than 11 million subscribers and 6.7 billion lifetime views on the video sharing platform.
ABS-CBN first became a Diamond Creator in 2018 for its ABS-CBN Entertainment's YouTube channel. It is the first YouTube channel in the Philippines to reach the 30-million subscriber mark and the second most subscribed channel in Southeast Asia with 31.6 million subscribers as well as the tenth most watched channel in the world as of October 2020 with 38.8 billion lifetime views. ABS-CBN officials led by chairman Mark Lopez, president and chief executive officer Carlo Katigbak, chief operating officer of broadcast Cory Vidanes, Integrated News head Ging Reyes and Digital head Jamie Reyes have presented the two awards from the said platform.
ABS-CBN News' YouTube channel houses a wide variety of news and current affairs content from different news programs and platforms including the live and on-demand streaming of ABS-CBN's flagship newscast TV Patrol and important coverages of Teleradyo and ANC (ABS-CBN News Channel). It has now reached an even wider and broader audience after making its content accessible worldwide. On the other hand, with the same goal of serving more Filipinos around the world, ABS-CBN Entertainment offers fresh new episodes of ABS-CBN shows, exclusive interviews and original digital shows.
After the indefinite shutdown of its broadcast operations due to the non-renewal of its legislative franchise, the premiere media and entertainment company in the Philippines began to offer more content online to Filipinos worldwide through Kapamilya Online Live on Facebook and YouTube, its streaming service iWantTFC and partnerships with other digital companies. However, its digital transformation began many years ago enabling it to establish the largest online presence among Filipino media companies housing a growing list of digital properties.

On January 11, 2021 (Monday), Filipino viewers can get a chance to catch and enjoy the premiere of A Perfect Planet, narrated by the esteemed Sir David Attenborough, with back-to-back episodes at 8:00 pm on BBC Earth (Cignal HD channel 245) in the Philippines, creating an epic two-hour launch event. Kick off the New Year in the most inspiring and educational way with BBC's newest documentary series that explores Earth's power - and fragility - to sustain life. It showcases cutting-edge cinematography, environmental storytelling both intimate and grand and Sir David's timeless narration.
This five-part series will show how the forces of nature - weather, ocean currents, solar energy and volcanoes - drive, shape and support Earth's great diversity in life. In doing so, it will reveal how animals are perfectly adapted to whatever the environment throws at them. The bumper launch event will feature episodes one (Volcanoes) and two (The Sun), with subsequent episodes broadcasting within hours from the United Kingdom. The global series was filmed in 31 countries, including national parks and seas in Thailand, Vietnam, China and Indonesia. Over the course of five episodes, take a tour through some of Asia's most iconic natural habitats and see them all in a new light including Queen Sirikit Botanical Gardens in Thailand, Cat Tien National Park in Vietnam, Shennongjia National Park in China, the Gulf Of Thailand, Lembeh in Indonesia and the Gobi Desert in Mongolia.
Shooting took place over 1,113 days, accumulating more than 3,000 hours of original footage. Look out for a diversity of Asia's native species in every episode as they adapt to the sun, weather, volcanoes, oceans and humanity in their own ingenious ways including the golden snub-nose monkeys in China; the flamboyant cuttlefish in Lembeh, Indonesia; Bryde's whales and fig wasps in Thailand; gibbons in Vietnam and camels in Malaysia. With over 70 years of experience on air, Sir David Attenborough becomes the world's favorite natural historian and says the following about the show: "Our planet is now one in a billion, a world teeming with life. But now, a new dominant force is changing the face of Earth - humans. To preserve a perfect planet we must ensure we become a force for good."
