Bounty Agro Ventures' Chooks-To-Go continues its thrust of supporting different basketball leagues across the country as it has committed full support for the 2021 season of the National Basketball League (NBL-Pilipinas), the country's first regional professional league for homegrown professional players, and the Women's National Basketball League (WNBL-Pilipinas), the first professional basketball league in the Philippines for female ballers, which were both given professional status by the Games and Amusement Board (GAB) last year amidst the continuing threat of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The NBL shares the same vision as Chooks-to-Go, which is to bring out the best in our homegrown athletes. On the other hand, the WNBL is a league that is a breakthrough for all Filipina athletes,” relayed Chooks-to-Go president Ronald Mascariñas. “We are looking forward to helping both leagues in their new journey as professional leagues just like how we have helped the Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup and the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League. I am thrilled to continue this wonderful journey with them,” said WNBL executive vice president Rhose Montreal.
Through the commitment, Chooks-To-Go becomes the title sponsor of both NBL-Pilipinas and WNBL-Pilipinas for their inaugural seasons as professional leagues which have literally kicked off with a 1v1 basketball tournament with select male and female ballers showcasing their skills against one another prior to the start of the actual season. The two leagues are looking to start staging their five-on-five basketball tournaments later within the year. For its men's 3x3 basketball tournament, all NBL-Pilipinas member teams will compete in the Chooks-To-Go Pilipinas 3x3, the first professional 3x3 basketball league in the country, along with those from the Pilipinas Vismin Super Cup and the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League. On the other hand, Chooks 3x3 sets to partner with the WNBL for the ladder's 3x3 basketball games.
