Digital powerhouse GMA Public Affairs forges ahead as one of the Philippines' biggest and most followed content creators, recently breaching the 15 million subscriber mark on YouTube. This feat comes a year after the channel reached the ten million subscriber mark that gave GMA Network Inc., the largest broadcasting company in the country, its second Diamond Play Button from the global video sharing service and becoming the first Philippine broadcast network to receive two YouTube Diamond Creator awards.
With its wide array of videos ranging from previously aired documentaries, docudramas and news magazine and lifestyle programs to short-form journalism and explainers, GMA Public Affairs continues to attract new viewers and subscribers on its official YouTube channel. From April 2020 to date, the channel has garnered an overwhelming 2.8 billion video views and recorded more than 264 million hours of watched videos as of this writing. Furthermore, GMA Public Affairs remains ahead of ABS-CBN News which has 12.1 million subscribers and 1.9 billion views from April 2020 to date on its YouTube channel.
Leading the most watched videos that racked up the YouTube presence of GMA Public Affairs in the said period is Imbestigador's "Pag-Iibigang Nauwi Sa Karahasan" episode which has recorded almost 40 million views. Based on data from Tubular Labs and Crowdtangle, GMA Public Affairs' various programs earned over 6.5 billion combined views on social media. With over 1.3 billion minutes, GMA Public Affairs emerged as the most watched News and Politics media creator in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region in terms of online viewership last September 2020. On the said year, GMA Public Affairs was listed among the top five Philippine media creators on the social media platform TikTok.
