ASUS Republic Of Gamers is officially entering the campus eSports scene in the Philippines as the co-presenter of the League of Legends: Wild Rift conference in the second season of the AcadArena University Alliance Cup which kicked off last May 14 and 15, 2021. Its recently-launched ASUS ROG Phone 2 becomes the official smartphone of the said conference, while viewers and eSports enthusiasts can expect a big boost in content and production value all throughout the season which will include a new player interview series entitled "InterROGation".

The continuous growth of esports in the country is a testament to how important technology and gaming are in the continued development and education of the youth. Officially licensed by Riot Games as its local eSports partner and highly regarded as the highest form of campus eSports competition in the Philippines, the University Alliance Cup features a set of 24 selected schools from AcadArena's Alliance network. Top placers from the event often proceed to international events, while the bottom four must defend their slots from the winners of a secondary division featuring the rest of the Alliance. Aside from ASUS ROG, other partners of the University Alliance Cup include co-organizer Globe Telecom and streaming service Twitch.

ONE eSports MPL Invitational 2021 To Commence On Final Quarter Of The Year

ONE eSports, the professional gaming arm of Asia's largest mixed martial arts (MMA) organization and most valuable global sports media property ONE Championship, is once again partnering with Mobile Legends Bang Bang developer MOONTON to present the MPL Invitational 2021. The partnership will also see ONE eSports as MOONTON's official media partner across all its official eSports leagues and events for the calendar year.

Scheduled to commence in the final quarter of 2021, the ONE eSports MPL Invitational 2021 will feature a grand cash prize pool of US$100,000. On the other hand, aside from the MPL Invitational 2021, ONE eSports will also run up to 100 MLBB community tournaments throughout the year. Based on data from eSports Charts, more than 142,000 viewers watched last year's MPL Invitational across available digital streaming platforms. Moreover, the event has secured partnerships with Samsung, Red Bull and Axis Gaming among others. LPU Manila, Tier One Launch BS eSports

The Lyceum of the Philippines University Manila Campus has officially launched its newest offering, the Bachelor of Science in eSports degree. Developed in partnership with Southeast Asia's premier eSports talent management and development arm Tier One Entertainment, the four-year BS eSports course focuses on the business of professional gaming and will comprise of eSports Management and Game Design and Development tracks. The university is also offering a two-year program leading to an Associate In eSports And Game Design degree.

The eSports Management track covers the fundamental concepts of eSports management and will teach students management and organization, planning and team management and business skills. The program also enables the students to develop business plants and organize events utilizing online streaming, marketing and advertising events through digital technology. On the other hand, the Game Design and Development track covers the concepts, principles and techniques in design and development grounded on the fundamental knowledge of eSports. The program aims to develop knowledge and understanding of eSports blended with the concept of game design theories and game programming. This enables the students to enhance creativity and inventiveness in game design and development.

Globe Telecom Co-Presented 2nd TikTok #GGPHCreatorCup2

Globe Telecom, the premiere purveyor of the Filipino digital lifestyle experience, recently co-presented last month's second TikTok #GGPHCreatorCup2 tournament, a two-day virtual tournament where over 40 content creators grouped in eight teams competing against one another in the popular FPS game VALORANT with a prize pool of US$1,000 at stake. The event reinforced TikTok's mission of making relevant gaming content accessible to all.

In the end, Team ChugJuggers led by Verden, Dejahvu, Hungrier and Filmreal were hailed as champions while suacy2k was awarded the event's MVP. The champions were able to win Valorant merchandise plus US$600 cash while the MVP takes home a special cash prize of US$100.
