Theaters and cinemas remain closed due to the continuing threat of the global pandemic. As much as we miss the thrill and feel of watching new releases on the big screens, we just need to wait a little longer. Fortunately though, the Philippines' leading online ticketing service GMovies in partnership with the online transactional video on demand (TVOD) platform UPSTREAM.PH has been among the prime alternative sources of entertainment especially for the string of new releases that we won't be able to see on the big screen until the pandemic is over. The best and most endearing part about it is that we can sit back, relax and binge-watch fresh movies, documentaries, special events and more within the safe comfort of our own homes while waiting for the cinemas to reopen.

Every month, GMovies and UPSTREAM.PH offers a fresh batch of local and international releases that movie lovers should look forward to. Among them is the 2019 award-winning anthology coming-of-age film Cleaners. Directed by Glenn Barit, the movie revolves around the trying times of assigned cleaners in a rural Catholic high school during the noughties. These students - portrayed by Ianna Taguinod, Leomar Baloran, Julian Narag, Carlo Mejia, Gianne Emira Rivera, Allan Gannaban, Charise Mabbonag, and Andrei Marquez - struggle with different societal pressures of being clean, proper and pure while they discover that the world is dirty and superficial to begin with. Cleaners has garnered a FAMAS Award for Best Screenplay, five Pista Ng Pelikulang Pilipino awards including Best Picture and Best Director among others and three awards (including Best Picture) in the QCinema International Film Festival.

Aside from Cleaners, here's some local and international flicks you can also book and watch across up to five devices.
