realme, the PH’s no. 1 smartphone brand for three consecutive quarters in 2021 (based on Canalys and IDC sell-in data Q1-Q3 2021), recently announced that its widely popular Number Series has officially reached 40 million in worldwide sales volume, according to global research firm Strategy Analytics.
Through its recent edition of the Strategy Analytics Report: Cumulative Shipments of Smartphone Families, the firm reports that the Number Series’ consolidated volume of 40 million units worldwide is reflective of the young brand’s growing position within the global tech industry, currently ranking fourth among “New Age Smartphone Families” in the world. realme was able to achieve this milestone in less than four years since its launch in 2018, making the Number Series one of the fastest Android smartphone product lines to have reached the 40-million mark.
As one of realme’s most well-loved lineups, the Number Series serves as a testament to the brand’s commitment to offering quality innovation at an accessible price. Headlined by the realme 8 Series launched in the Philippines in 2021, the lineup has consistently performed well in the mid-range segment year after year. In addition, according to Strategy Analytics, the Number Series has been pivotal to its scale-up to be the fastest brand ever to ship 100 million units in the entire history of the smartphone. This achievement further proves realme’s strong and steady momentum across the globe. In the Philippines, the brand has consistently ranked no. 1 for the first three quarters of 2021, based on sell-in data by research firms Canalys and IDC.
With all these achievements, realme is looking to continue this growth by delivering the best tech and lifestyle experience to the youth around the world.

In the meta world of Facebook, ONE Championship is king. The Home of Martial Arts topped other global sports properties last year in terms of organic video views, according to the social media conglomerate CrowdTangle. ONE had a massive 8.84 billion organic video views on Facebook to top the list while also growing its global following by 21.75 percent, or 5.7 million additional followers, for 2021.
"It is an honor to be recognized as the #1 sports property in the world in Facebook organic video views in 2021,” ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong said. “Once again, we could not have achieved this feat without the greatest fans in the world and our superstar team at ONE Championship. While this data represents a great milestone, we are poised to reach even greater heights in 2022.” World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) was second, with 7.92 billion views and a 27 percent follower leap. The International Cricket Council (ICC) came third with 2.61 billion views. The National Basketball Association (NBA) and the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) rounded up the top five with 1.86 and 1.65 billion organic views, respectively.
It has been a stellar year for ONE in social media, mainly because of the promotion’s passion to distribute digital content to every fan. ONE has consistently delivered free fights on Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram to engage existing fans while garnering new ones. It’s the second straight year that ONE has flourished on social media, as it picked up from its tremendous rise from 2020, wherein Nielsen reported a 113-percent increase in global followers.

Knowledge Channel Partners With CCP To Further Promote Filipino Culture And Arts To The Filipino Youth
(Image Source: Rappler/Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc.) |
Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. (KCFI) has entered into an agreement with the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) for the airing of CCP’s cultural shows and features on Knowledge Channel. These culture and arts content will be part of the channel’s School at Home Araling Panlipunan and Filipino blocks as part of the channel’s commitment to promote Filipino heritage to the youth. Knowledge Channel will soon announce the specific shows and features included in this partnership that will start airing during the first and second quarters of the year.
CCP president Arsenio “Nick” Lizaso expressed his heartfelt appreciation to KCFI for supporting their efforts to introduce Filipino culture to a large number of students nationwide during the signing of memorandum of agreement (MOA) held virtually last December. He expressed hope that the collaboration would help pique the interest of the youth in further understanding the rich heritage of the Philippines. KCFI president and executive director Rina Lopez-Bautista, meanwhile, expressed excitement about the renewed partnership with CCP, citing how their previous efforts inspired the youth to learn more about their Filipino identity. “Having knowledge about Filipino history, culture and language is fundamental in the holistic development of the Filipino child. Children will have a profound sense of their identity as a Filipino and a strong feeling of pride for their country,” she noted.
KCFI and CCP first collaborated over a decade ago when Knowledge Channel aired the live-action adaptation of Jose Rizal’s literary masterpiece “Noli Me Tangere” under its Filipino high school block, as well as several theater performances via its weekend performing arts show, “Theater Hour.” Also in attendance to oversee the MOA signing were CCP chairperson Margarita Moran-Floirendo alongside board members Jaime Laya, Benedict Carandang, Lorna Kapunan, and KCFI’s director of operations Edric Calma.
