UniPin, the leading digital entertainment enabler in Southeast Asia, is a pioneer when it comes to elevating the eSports scene for women to a higher level. UniPin has been facilitating gamers in the Southeast Asia region for easier top-up access and hosting several successful female-only tournaments in various Southeast Asian countries. This time, UniPin is hosting UniPin Ladies Series 2022 for the second time in the Philippines, after the first one in October 2021.
UniPin Community (UNITY) is a major part of Ladies Series 2022 and UniPin’s eSports ecosystem. Our community baseline is the one who keeps the eSports scene alive, which is why we choose to focus on organizing tournaments. UNITY’s goals are to nurture both professionals and enthusiasts of eSports, so that they may contribute to the eSports ecosystem. The registration for the tournament is open for all interested lady squads from across the country until April 17th and can be accessed via https://www.seaca.gg/tournament/unipin-ladies-series-season-1-ph. The open qualifier stage will take place from April 22 to 24. Meanwhile, the regular season is scheduled on May 2-19 followed by the play-off stage from May 24 and the grand finals on May 28 . The two best teams from the UniPin Ladies Series Philippines will become the country’s representatives for the UniPin Ladies Series SEA Invitational.
Due to the pandemic, the tournament will be held online through streaming live at UniPin Philippines Facebook page and FEPL Facebook page. All participating teams will be competing for a total prize of Php130,000, more than double of last year’s Php50,000 tournament prizes. Not only that, the winning teams will also receive a pro player license from the Philippines’ Game and Amusement Boards (GAB) where they can join local and international eSports events as professional players. This opportunity certainly adds additional motivation for the participating ladies’ team to give their all at the UniPin Ladies Championship. UniPin Community Senior Vice President Debora Imanuella explains that the UniPin Ladies Series will pave the way for many female eSports teams to show up and compete in the Philippines’ eSports scene. “We are glad to present the opportunity for every female gamer in the Philippines to compete and show their skills with confidence. The UniPin Ladies Series is not just another eSports tournament, but the perfect stage for female gamers in the Philippines to enter the competitive scene, and will act as a stepping stone for female pro players to reach a higher level in the Southeast Asia region. This competition will certainly boost the growth of the female gamers community and the Philippines’ eSports ecosystem as a whole,” said Debora.
