(Image Source: Orange Magazine TV/Burger King Philippines)

Burger King, known as the “Home of the Whopper”, has a new ruler. Move over because there’s a new king in town. The rise of the Chicken King, equally deserving of the crown, has made its way to Manila, Philippines and it’s taking over BK stores. In photos launched on Burger King Philippines’ Facebook page, it can be seen from the restaurant’s store’s facade, menu board, and dining area, is now all about Chicken King. The takeover comes on the heels of the arrival of the newest chicken sandwich player – Chicken King. It is a chicken sandwich royally made with a generous portion of chicken thigh muscle patty, slowly marinated in flavorful herbs and spices, and carefully cooked to golden brown perfection for that juicier and meatier taste in a big crunchy bite. Tucked between soft buttery potato buns with fresh tomatoes and crunchy lettuce, and topped with creamy mayonnaise, the Chicken King is the new must-try chicken sandwich today.

“We are excited for Filipinos to try the newest Chicken King worthy of the title ‘king’ for its hefty portions and bold flavors.” said Burger King Philippines General Manager John Velasco. The addition of Chicken King to BK’s menu is the restaurant’s latest move to expand its kingdom in the chicken sandwich territory and give guests, who are the real kings, the very best experience. “We’ve given the Chicken King the royal treatment to make it perfect for chicken sandwich lovers who deserve the royal treatment themselves. And for those who already love our flame-grilled Whopper and other offerings, this will be another king to their hearts and stomachs too,” added Velasco.

(Image Source: Out Of Town Blog/Cebu Pacific)

It was a day for fun and shrieking as Cebu Pacific and AHA Learning Center brought 100 kids to experience thrilling rides and games at Star City. Cebu Pacific brought back its “Fun for Little Juans” – a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) engagement – and this time partnered with the AHA Learning Center for its first face-to-face community engagement. AHA brought 100 kids and 50 guardians from a sponsored community in Tondo, Manila to have a day of fun and learning at the Star City. AHA, which started in 2009 as a free after-school program in Makati, now directly supports more than 300 public school students in the National Capital Region.

Employees of Cebu Pacific, the Philippines’ leading carrier, volunteered their time and energy to help organize the event and play with the kids who had a grand time at the theme park. “This is the most fun activity we’ve had since the pandemic. Nothing beats the joy of seeing children happily playing and taking the carnival rides, after being cooped up inside their homes during the pandemic. We, at Cebu Pacific, enjoy sharing our time and resources with deserving Filipino communities,” said Cebu Pacific Corporate Communications Officer Carmina Romero. Apart from enjoying the rides in the amusement park, the kids were also given snack, vitamins and care kit loot bags from sponsors such as Universal Robina Corporation, The Generics Pharmacy and Pascual Laboratories. “Having a day like this means so much more to our students after the year they’ve had," said AHA Founder and President Jaton Zulueta. AHA Learning Center always highlights the milestones that their students have reached and this kind of celebration is a big win for everyone. Zulueta adds, “Today is a day that they will definitely never forget.”

Founded in March 1996, CEB is the largest carrier in the Philippine air transportation industry, offering low-cost services to more destinations and routes with higher flight frequency within the Philippines than any other airline. Stewardship for its people, the environment and creating Juan Community are the airline’s major pillars in its sustainability journey. CEB currently offers flights to 34 Philippine and 18 international destinations, spanning Asia, Australia, and the Middle East.
