GMA Affordabox celebrates its second anniversary with bigger treats and surprises as GMA Network’s digital TV receiver can now be purchased at an even more affordable price of Php799. Making the anniversary celebration brighter and more vibrant, Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes is joined by Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera. Marian gladly expressed the things she liked about GMA Affordabox. “Bukod sa napaka-affordable niya, mapapanood pa ito nang mas maliwanag, mas makulay at mas maganda. Darna Spotted At Several Malls Ahead Of Series' August 15 TV Premiere

Pinoy iconic superheroine Darna has been spotted hovering on top of several malls ahead of the highly anticipated premiere of the series “Mars Ravelo’s Darna” set on August 15. Fan page @CertifiedKpmlya tweeted, “LOOK: From Robinsons Metro East, #Darna muling namataan sa Robinsons Place Antipolo. Sino nga ba ang hinahanap ni Darna sa Robinsons mall?” Go Rizal also posted about the superhero sighting on Facebook. “DARNA IS HERE? TINGNAN: Spotted ang isang indibidwal na ito na naka-costume ng Darna habang nasa itaas na bahagi ng isang mall sa Antipolo, Rizal,” according to its page.

Meanwhile, Twitter user @PopeChromaticus hailed the Darna sightings as genius. He said, “The promo gimmick at Robinsons for #Darna is genius! I mean, the reference to the (debunked) encounter between Alice Dixson and the ‘taong ahas’ in one of its branches.” Aside from appearing in Pasig and Antipolo, Darna’s silhouette was also spotted in two malls in Quezon City. The superhero’s powerful insignia has also been making the rounds on various structures in the Metro including ABS-CBN’s ELJ Tower and transmitter, signaling the looming arrival of the much-awaited ABS-CBN Entertainment series. Starring Jane De Leon in the titular role, “Darna” dropped its official trailer early this month, which now has over 9.3 million combined views on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube channel of ABS-CBN Entertainment. 


Last July 22, the show also released another teaser announcing that its TV premiere is scheduled on August 15 and naming cast members Iza Calzado, Janella Salvador, Joshua Garcia, Zaijian Jaranilla, Paolo Gumabao, Rio Locsin, Richard Quan, Simon Ibarra, Jeffrey Santos, Eric Fructuoso, and Levi Ignacio. Jeric Raval, Joko Diaz, and Joem Bascon were also announced to have a special participation in the series led by the Master Director Chito S. Roño together with co-directors Avel Sunpongco and Benedict Mique.

Shopee, Shopee Express Partner With Whisper And World Vision To Empower Young Women To #ShareTheConfidence

Shopee, the leading e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia and Taiwan, recently launched the #ShareTheConfidence campaign in partnership with Whisper and World Vision Philippines to educate Filipinos on the importance of menstrual hygiene management. This initiative is part of Shopee Bayanihan, the company’s umbrella corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm that seeks to provide support for communities in need through partnerships with various humanitarian organizations.

As part of the campaign, Whisper pledged to match and donate sanitary products for every Whisper product sold on Shopee from May 28 to June 30. Almost 130,000 young women from World Vision’s partner communities all over the Philippines benefitted from the initiative and received sanitary products through the delivery efforts of Shopee Xpress, Shopee’s logistics arm. Apart from raising awareness on proper menstrual hygiene management, the #ShareTheConfidence campaign also aimed to break the stigma around menstrual health and address the issue of period poverty in the Philippines. Last July 22, Shopee and its partners culminated the #ShareTheConfidence campaign with an on-site event in Laurel, Batangas to turn over Whisper sanitary pads to over 85,000 beneficiaries within the area.

Jeepney TV Fan Favorite Awards Announces Nominations In Hosting Categories

The battle for the best of Pinoy entertainment as decided by fans continues as more categories are now open for voting in “Jeepney TV Fan Favorite Awards". Notable past and present Kapamilya hosts are nominated for the “Fave Talk Show Host” award including Boy Abunda, Jhai Ho, Kris Aquino, ‘Momshies’ Jolina Magdangal and Melai Cantiveros, Martin Nievera, Sharon Cuneta, and Vice Ganda.
