The National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) is making bold changes at the start of 2023 which will allow its slate of television programming to reach more professional wrestling fans across the globe. First, its weekly flagship program NWA Powerrr will return as first run programming on its official YouTube channel every Tuesday at 6:05 pm ET (Wednesday, 6:05 am PHT/HKT/SGT) while NWA USA will remain on the said platform every Saturday at 12:00 noon ET (Sunday, 12:00 am PHT/HKT/SGT). The NWA is also set to launch a new weekly interview series entitled "NWA Presents" where President William Patrick Corgan sits down one-on-one with true living legends to talk about their professional careers, the inner-workings of the territorial systems, and to offer exclusive wrestling memorabilia from the unique NWA archives; some of which has never been shared in public.
NWA Powerrr's return as first run programming on YouTube kicked off last January 3, 2022 with matches that will determine the teams heading to the finals of the NWA Champions Series tournament which is slated to take place on NWA Powerrr LIVE on January 27, 2022 emanating from the Knoxville Convention Center in Knoxville, Tennessee. The finals will be the 32-person Ultimate Team War where the winners will receive future title shots at a time of their choosing. NWA World Championships will be defended at this event as well. On the other hand, the NWA All Access Pass subscription package on FITE TV has been officially phased out since August 26, 2022 where active subscribers can still enjoy watching NWA's PPV programming until their subscription expires while the NWA Monthly Pass subscription is now effectively cancelled. FITE TV subscribers worldwide can still avail of individual purchases for NWA PPVs. “I want to thank our viewers who used FITE’s Monthly or Annual subscription service to enjoy our product. Making the switch to having the world be able to watch NWA Powerrr at the same time is essential to our growth strategy going forward. FITE has been an important partner and we are happy to continue our relationship with FITE as our pay-per-view provider,” Corgan said.
Meanwhile, the premiere episode of NWA Presents will air on January 10, 2023 at 6:05 pm ET (January 11, 2023, 6:05 am PHT/HKT/SGT) on the NWA YouTube Channel and will feature a discussion with the Universal Heartthrob Austin Idol. On this episode, Idol goes into great detail about breaking into the sport of wrestling during the 1970s in Tampa as well as his relationship with Eddie Graham, Dusty Rhodes, Jack Brisco and many more. Idol talks about his outlook on life after surviving a plane crash, along with stories that have never been recorded before. Corgan commented, “This show is so special because it allows legends to tell an unfiltered story about the wrestling industry they came up in. What I really like is when I show off an old wrestling program or picture from my memorabilia collection and you can see memories rushing back to the guests on the show. It sparks conversations you would never get to hear otherwise." Future episodes of NWA Presents will include conversations with Dr. Tom Prichard and many more.
The NWA will head towards the Egypt Shrine Center in Tampa, Florida on February 11, 2023 for its next PPV event Nuff Said headlined by current NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Tyrus defending his title against former champion Matt Cardona. The pay-per-view will be followed by two days of NWA Powerrr and NWA USA television tapings at the WEDU Television studio on February 12 and 13, 2023. The Sunday taping is currently scheduled to be a matinee before the ‘Big Game’ the same day. For the first time of the modern era, the NWA is headed to Mexico as part of the “World is a Vampire Festival” on March 4, 2023 in Mexico City. Wrestlers from the NWA will take on luchadors from Lucha Libre AAA with several NWA titles scheduled to be defended.
