Returning to AnimeJapan 2023, Netflix showcased its diverse slate of current and upcoming anime including fan favorites like PLUTO or the newly announced series Ōoku: The Inner Chambers, delighting fans both in and outside Japan during multiple booth presentations and a star-studded stage event.
The broad lineup across genres like sci-fi, action and more includes newly announced titles Ōoku: The Inner Chambers (coming in 2023), the first anime adaptation of the hit manga by Fumi Yoshinaga, and Yakitori: Soldiers of Misfortune (May 2023), an anime series adapted from a brand-new military science fiction novel by Carlo Zen who made his debut with The Saga of Tanya the Evil. These and more titles are joining the previously announced Onmyoji (coming in 2023), an animated series based on the world of Baku Yumemakura’s well-known tales about the ancient yin-yang diviner Abe Seimei which is set for release later this year. “Over the years, we’ve learned that fans love the breadth of our lineup. From titles like PLUTO and Ooku: The Inner Chambers by top storytellers, to buzzy fan favorites like Onmyoji, Yakitori and so much more in store — this year, there’s a show for every anime fan. We’ve humbled the global interest in anime has been strong and growing, with over 100 million members watching anime yearly,” says Netflix Director of Content Yuji Yamano.
During the AnimeJapan event, Netflix also welcomed the author of PLUTO Naoki Urasawa, Japanese voice talents Yoko Hikasa (Shaman King) and Minori Suzuki (Macross Delta), as well as title supervisor Macoto Tezka to the stage, who shared their enthusiasm for the highly-anticipated anime adaptation of PLUTO (coming in 2023) with the audience. During their appearance, Netflix also gave another glimpse at the ambitious project, revealing a new teaser art by original creator Naoki Urasawa himself, that gave another glimpse at the characters and the world of PLUTO.

Jamie Rivera Leads New Record Label Inspire Music

Jamie Rivera embarks on a new role as the head and creative consultant of ABS-CBN Music’s new record label called Inspire Music and introduces her newest single “3 In 1" which is now available worldwide on digital music streaming platforms. “3 In 1” is an upbeat song with a reggae vibe that talks about the joy of believing in God, three persons in one, referring to the Holy Trinity or God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
“The song is perfect for anyone looking for something fun and new this summer to dance to, or even for use when people gather to celebrate and pray together,” said the Inspirational Diva who composed the single. The timely single also features children Imogen and “The Voice Kids” season 5 contestant Fabio Santos. “Ang gagaling nung mga bata and they were able to give justice to the song. Filipino singer-songwriter MONA channels the inner thoughts of a fan girl on “Tagahanga", her official second single under Sony Music Entertainment. The song tells the story of a passionate fan who rallies around her idol, hoping to connect with them in a meaningful way and get noticed. It was also penned by MONA herself, who admitted that her experiences as a fan inspired the storytelling. She shares, “To an extent, I’d say that these memories come from a place of love and adoration. I took the experience to heart when I decided to start a career in music because at some point in my life, I know how it feels to be a fan.”
On “Tagahanga", the promising songstress transforms her positive energy into a euphoric pop anthem.
