Watsons Held 1st Medical Mission For 2023 In Laoag, Ilocos Norte

Watsons held its first ‘Alagang Pangkalusugan’ medical mission for 2023 last April 13 in partnership with SM Foundation at the Centennial Arena in Laoag, Ilocos Norte. The medical mission aimed to provide free medical services to Laoag residents and promote the importance of health and wellness. The medical mission included Watsons Philippines officials led by Marketing Manager Patrick Yu and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Pillar Head Belle Pesayco, 25 Watsons volunteer employees and supplier partners, as well as 25 medical volunteers from the local government unit.
The medical mission was conducted in partnership with the Ilocos Norte provincial government led by Governor Matthew Joseph Manotoc. Among the free medical services that the medical mission offered to Laoag residents were doctor’s consultations, blood tests, bone screening, hearing checks, skin analysis, hair analysis, ECG, and X-rays. Free medicines, vitamins, and health supplements were also given to Laoag residents who went to the medical outreach. “We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Watsons for choosing Laoag. This is a great opportunity for our residents, especially the seniors, to get medical attention and live healthier lives,” said Governor Manotoc.

Cebu Pacific Hails Top PH, International Travel Agencies At 17th Eagle Wings Awards

Cebu Pacific Air (CEB), the Philippines’ leading airline, recognized its top-performing travel agencies from the Philippines and the Asia-Pacific region as it held the 17th edition of the annual Eagle Wings Awards, the first since 2019. A total of 62 agencies from CEB’s local and international stations were conferred with the Eagle Wings Award in a three-day event held on March 21 to 23, 2023 at Modala Beach Resort in Panglao, Bohol. The Eagle Wings Awards is held annually to recognize CEB’s top domestic and international producers in terms of ticket sales, as well as their contributions to the overall success of the airline. The 2023 edition, which honored the previous year’s top producers, marked the return of the awards after being suspended for three years due to the global COVID-19 pandemic.
“The past three years have been tough, with the pandemic negatively impacting the travel and tourism industry. But despite these challenges, we know all of you have worked hard to reach out to our customers and encourage them to fly again. And because of that, it’s only proper to give credit where it is due,” CEB Director for Passenger Sales and Distribution Arlene Tena, told the awardees during the March 21st ceremony. Leading the travel agency awardees is Manila-based Via Philippines Travel Corp. for being the airline’s top-selling producer for 2022 followed by GI Philippines Corp., Universal Storefront Services, Ticket1 Travel, and The Atlas Pte. Ltd. Rounding out this list are Beijing Shuozoujiuzou Technology Co. Ltd., Pinoy Tourism LLC., Beijing Daran Aviation Service Co. Ltd., Tabeer Tourism LLC., and Nam Thanh Travel Joint Stock.
Special awards were also given to travel agencies that have shown significant contributions to the development of new traffic for CEB such as ship’s crew, labor, and MICE traffic as well as English as a Second Language, offline, and charter businesses. To further show its appreciation, CEB took the travel agents on a trip around Bohol to allow them to experience the world-renowned sights, cuisine, and hospitality of the island province. “As we strive for full recovery this year, I hope you continue to join us in our mission to enable every Juan to fly. You, our valued partners and awardees, are very much part of Cebu Pacific’s success, and we are very thankful for the relentless support and commitment you have shown throughout the years,” Tena said. CEB continues to lead the domestic travel industry with 57% market share for 2022. This year, the airline is firmly in place for full recovery as it restores 100% of its pre-COVID network and capacity aided by its unbeatable seat sales, widest domestic network and reinstatement of all its international destinations.
