The much-anticipated inaugural 7s Super League is set to kick off on March 10, 2024 at the McKinley Stadium in Taguig City, ushering in a new era of football excitement in the Philippines. 7x7 Football Philippines Founder and CEO and Philippine Azkals national men's football team member Anton del Rosario, 7x7 Football Philippines Executive Director Ethan Lee and AIA Philippines Chief Marketing Officer Melissa Henson led the launch of the league at the Mansion Sports Bar in Makati last February 15, 2024. Organized by 7×7 Football Philippines, this revolutionary league promises to redefine football in the country with its unique seven-a-side format.
Embracing innovation and thrilling gameplay, the 7s Super League introduces a fast-paced and dynamic style of football. With a compact field and smaller teams, matches are expected to be high-scoring and action-packed, delivering an exhilarating experience for fans. Elite teams comprising top-tier football talent from various cities across Metro Manila will compete in the league’s debut season. Among the seven participating teams are the Alabang South Supers, BGC Soldiers, Pampanga Strikers, Paranaque Super Nets, Quezon City Heroes, Siniloan GOM Blues, and Pasig City Pirates. With a blend of local and international players, the 7s Super League adds a global dimension to the competition, offering fans exciting matchups and diverse playing styles that contribute to the rich tapestry of football in the Philippines.
Del Rosario expressed his enthusiasm for the league’s launch, emphasizing its potential to revolutionize football in the country, stating, “This will be a game-changer for football in the Philippines.
