Frankfurt, Germany – the European city whose impressive skyline earned it the nickname, Mainhattan (a portmanteau of Main, the river where Frankfurt lies, and Manhattan, a reference to the city's high rises and skyscrapers) – is saying "Wilkommen" to two of the top international Filipino singers in today's generation who are coming to the world-class city. On May 11, 2024, "Asia's Phoenix" Morissette and "Asia's Pop Heartthrob" Darren Espanto will rock the music scene in Frankfurt via the concert, "SHOWSTOPPERS", at the iconic Zoom Club where the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band Genesis first performed in Germany back in the 70s. While Zoom mainly caters to Indie and Electro fans nowadays, it also features other music styles and international performances.
Morissette and Darren both started young in their respective careers. They have won accolades in many singing competitions that they joined on their way to mainstream success. Morissette, whose vocal range spans an insane 5.4 octaves, rose to fame after placing runner-up on "The Voice Of The Philippines" in 2013. Her albums became best sellers and she became in demand for endorsements of various brands and for numerous live shows and TV appearances. She won accolades in the Awit Awards, the Philippine equivalent of the Grammys, including Best Performance by a New Female Recording Artist in 2015 and Best Ballad Recording in 2016 for her single "Akin Ka Na Lang". She's known for her ingenious incorporation of R&B, soul, jazz and hip hop into her songs. Darren, a Filipino Canadian from Calgary, gained national fame and recognition when he finished as first runner-up in the very first season of "The Voice Kids Philippines" back in 2014. His debut single "Dying Inside To Hold You" was an instant hit in the Philippines. His first and eponymously titled album turned platinum just 5 months after its release. His recording collaborations with artists like Inigo Pascual, KZ Tandingan, James Reid, Jed Madela and Malaysian pop star Nik Qistina were well-received by fans and praised by critics. Darren also made his acting debut in the massive box office hit "The Hows of Us".
In May 2019, in time for the release of the live action adaptation of the 90s Disney animated classic "Aladdin" in the Philippines, Morissette and Darren worked together on a localized version of the 1993 Oscar winner for Best Original Song "A Whole New World" for a whole new generation of listeners and viewers of the film. What makes Morissette and Darren stand out during their live shows is that they're excellent singers who can move and dance well. They're not just vocal dynamos, but also masters of showmanship. Fans are in for a grand treat with high energy from these two in "SHOWSTOPPERS". They make the perfect live entertainment package from TFC (The Filipino Channel), now celebrating its 30th anniversary, which is making a grand comeback in events for the Filipino community of Germany. Now, music fans in Germany and neighboring countries in Europe can catch the powerhouse duo. Presented by TFC with MYX, MX3 and WorldRemit, tickets to "SHOWSTOPPERS" are currently available and can be purchased online at https://mytfc.com/showstoppers. VIP tickets to the event, which came with photo ops, were sold out in just one day after they became available which is more than enough reason why fans and music lovers across Europe should not miss this spectacular showcase.
