IGN, the largest gaming media in North America, highlighted Crimson Desert as the only Korean game in its "Best of Gamescom" list and quoted "combat is refined, deep, and it didn't feel like any of the games in comparing in to". The outlet was impressed by the Queen Stoneback Crab quoting the fight as "most wicked", specifically for the unique mechanics - "swinging Spider-Man-style from a web and colliding with the pottery at full speed. Seriously. I'm not sure how I'd have figured that out on my own, but I'm pleased such a mechanic exists." RollingStone, the largest entertainment media in Europe, selected Crimson Desert as the best game in the "gamescom 2024's best-worst" list and mentioned "the battle is a wonderful spectacle" and added, "Cinematic camera that sweeps around for dramatic effect while still keeping action centered."

Entertainment media Screen Rant assured after playing the demo, "now I'm a full-on believer." France's leading gaming media Jeux Video said, "Crimson Desert could well be the long-awaited open world action-adventure with its intense and technical combat." On its impression towards combat, UK's largest gaming media PC Gamer stated, "Crimson Desert's propensity to batter you around is one of its best qualities and it helps that the combat system seems really quite good, if complex." Poland's PPE.pl reviewed "Crimson Desert is taking game design and quality to a whole new level, and the Crimson Desert demo was the most impressive thing at the show."
Crimson Desert is an open-world action-adventure game based on the story of mercenaries fighting for survival on the vast continent of Pywel. Crimson Desert will be released globally on both PC and console platforms.
