On January 23, 2025, De La Salle Lipa (DLSL)'s School of Professional Advancement and Continuing Education (SPACE) held its first graduation ceremony for the Certiport Certification Program takers, administered by the Center for Global Training and Development (CGTD), at the Sen. Diokno Boardroom. This milestone marks a significant step in SPACE’s mission to provide globally recognized certifications, empowering professionals with the skills needed to excel in today’s competitive industries. Since the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between DLSL and CGTD on July 22, 2024, SPACE has expanded its certification offerings, ensuring that professionals and lifelong learners gain access to industry-relevant credentials.
The graduation ceremony was a momentous occasion, graced by key figures who have contributed to the success of the Certiport Certification Program. Among those in attendance were DLSL Assistant Vice Chancellor for Academics — Colleges Dr. Nerissa Lucasia, CGTD Co-Founder and Corporate Secretary Steve Robles, SPACE Dean Dr. Lanie Santos, and iPACE Program Head Mr. Sebastian Puache. The program commenced with an inspiring opening address by Dr. Lucasia, who recognized the graduates’ dedication and perseverance. She commended them for their discipline and commitment to professional growth, stating, “You made sacrifices, stayed disciplined, and took on the challenge of completing these courses. Your perseverance and dedication inspire not only your students but all of us who are fortunate enough to witness your journey.” Following her remarks, Robles underscored the increasing importance of skills certification in today’s evolving job market. He emphasized that in the 21st-century economy, “The currency is skills. Certifications provide a reliable, independent evaluation of one’s ability and expertise in a particular field.” He further encouraged the completers to use their newly acquired knowledge to drive innovation, stating, “The knowledge and skills you have acquired are powerful tools that will enable you to create meaningful change. In this era of rapid technological advancement, you have the unique opportunity to bridge cultures and connect communities through the universal language of technology. Continue to seek knowledge, collaborate, and challenge the boundaries of what is achievable.” A highlight of the ceremony was the awarding of certificates where each graduate was recognized for their achievement. The event also featured testimonial speeches from two Lasallian Partners who earned their certification – Dfezie Tipan and Leonida Ona – who expressed their gratitude to SPACE and CGTD, reaffirming the value of lifelong learning in personal and professional growth.
