The Global eSports Federation (GEF) proudly announces the first-ever Global eSports Tour (GET) in India, marking a historic milestone in GEF’s mission to expand its global footprint and unite diverse communities through the power of eSports. Mumbai, one of the world’s most dynamic and culturally rich cities, will host GET this year, further reinforcing India’s growing prominence in the international eSports landscape. This landmark event is made possible through the Strategic Framework Agreement signed in October 2024 between GEF and Skillhub Online Games Federation (SOGF). This collaboration serves as a catalyst for eSports development across South Asia, paving the way for new opportunities in India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.

“The Global eSports Tour’s arrival in India is a defining moment for the Global eSports Federation. Our commitment to expanding esports opportunities globally remains steadfast, and our partnership with Skillhub Online Games Federation underscores our shared vision of fostering a truly inclusive and interconnected eSports ecosystem,” said GEF Chief of Staff and Operations Rustam Aghasiyev. SOGF Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sibtain Baqri expressed, “We are honored to welcome the Global eSports Tour to India, a historic milestone for our thriving eSports community. This tournament elevates India’s competitive ecosystem, provides a global stage for our athletes, and fosters cross-cultural connections within eSports. It’s not just an event but a catalyst for growth, inspiring athletes, and positioning India as a global eSports powerhouse. SOGF is committed to driving this momentum forward with even bigger initiatives, ensuring India’s eSports journey reaches new heights.” India’s inclusion in the prestigious GET circuit highlights the country’s vibrant and fast-growing eSports community. As a rising hub of innovation and talent, India’s eSports industry continues to captivate global audiences and investors alike.

The Global eSports Tour, GEF’s premier professional tournament series, showcases the world’s elite eSports athletes and teams competing across iconic global cities. With previous editions held in major eSports capitals, the addition of Mumbai underscores GEF’s dedication to promoting inclusivity, competitive excellence, and cross-border engagement in the eSports community. As eSports continues to break cultural and geographical barriers, GET Mumbai 2025 represents an unprecedented opportunity to bring together fans, athletes, and stakeholders from across the globe, solidifying eSports as a key player in the global sports and entertainment industry. Meanwhile, the Global eSports Federation is pleased to welcome GAKU as a Global Impact Partner with a focus on empowering youth through eSports and technology. Together, they build on a joint mission to create a safe, inclusive, and sustainable eSports ecosystem. This collaboration focuses on creating impactful initiatives that prepare young people in the digital space – executing educational programs that spark creativity with hands-on experiences at GEF events and building strong, supportive communities for students, parents, and educators worldwide.

“This partnership with GAKU will rally the potential of gaming and eSports and drive meaningful social impact. We’re enabling young people with the tools and confidence to succeed in the digital space. We will create transformative learning experiences that empower, engage, and inspire,” said GEF CEO Paul J. Foster. “GAKU and the Global eSports Federation are committed to shaping a brighter future for youth by harnessing the transformative power of gaming and eSports. The collaboration seeks to create a holistic ecosystem where young individuals can thrive by integrating inclusivity, hands-on training, and community engagement. Through shared values and innovative initiatives, we aim to cultivate a global network of future-ready leaders who are equipped to navigate and excel in the evolving digital world,” said GAKU Pte. Ltd. CEO Sayo Okamoto. Building on the GEF’s Global Social Impact Initiative (GSII), introduced at UNESCO in July 2024, this partnership marks the beginning of an exciting collaboration driven by a common commitment to innovation and growth in eSports. Together, they create meaningful opportunities and lasting positive impacts for its #worldconnected communities.
