On The Radar: adidas, Liverpool Football Club Announce Multi-Year Partnership

adidas and Liverpool Football Club have agreed a multi-year partnership that will see the sports brand becoming the club’s official kit partner from the 2025-2026 season onwards. Beginning August 1, 2025, Liverpool FC will wear adidas for the third time in its history with the sports brand supplying match kit, training wear and culture wear to all men’s, women’s, academy teams and LFC Foundation staff. Liverpool FC and adidas worked closely throughout some of the club’s most iconic eras from 1985-1996 and again from 2006-2012. During these times, the club secured an array of trophies including three domestic league and eleven domestic cup titles while some of the jerseys are considered among the most loved kits of their era. 

The announcement follows an exciting time for the club with the men’s team sitting top of the domestic league and qualifying for the knock-out stages of the UEFA Champion’s League, as well as the women’s team firmly establishing themselves as a mainstay at the highest level of domestic competition. adidas CEO Bjørn Gulden said, “We are very excited that adidas and Liverpool Football Club are teaming up once again. The club is one of the biggest and most iconic names in world football with a huge fan base. We are honored to once again provide the players with cutting-edge technology to perform at the highest level. The jerseys worn during previous partnerships are some of the greatest ever created. The deal builds on existing relationships between adidas and many Liverpool Football Club players including Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Curtis Jones, Darwin Núñez, Alexis Mac Allister, Diogo Jota, Luis Díaz, Ryan Gravenberch, Fuka Nagano, Mia Enderby and Jenna Clark. Details of the first adidas Liverpool kits will be revealed via club and adidas channels on August 1, 2025.

Visa, a global leader in digital payments, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) aimed at expanding access to financial services for Filipinos, particularly those in underserved sectors such as rural communities. Under the agreement, Visa will utilize its innovation in digital payments as well as its global payments network to explore opportunities with PHLPost in modernizing and expanding the reach of its financial services, which include handling remittances and money orders for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) as well as disbursement of healthcare subsidies, social welfare payments, and disaster relief. 

Visa and PHLPost will also explore opportunities to enhance business and financial literacy for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), as well as share best practices in making financial transactions more seamless, secure, and accessible. The PHLPost remains committed to providing essential postal and financial services to Filipinos, especially those in remote and or Filipinos abroad. Through this collaboration with Visa, PHLPost aims to enhance its financial offerings by integrating digital payment solutions, improving transaction efficiency, and ensuring greater security for its customers through good governance. By modernizing its services, PHLPost seeks to bridge the financial gap for communities that rely on its extensive network across the country.

In celebration of Women’s Month, foodpanda Philippines reaffirmed its promotion of gender equality and inclusivity by bringing joy and support to the residents of Haven for Women, a a residential care facility run by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) that supports vulnerable women and their families. foodpanda employees volunteered to distribute food and merchandise while engaging with the residents in a creative workshop focused on women’s empowerment.

KABAKA Opens Manila Summer Hoops Fest

KABAKA recently kicked off its summer Inter-Barangay Basketball Tournament at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in partnership with AKSYON Youth to promote wellness and grassroots sports programs all over Manila. KABAKA founder and former Manila fifth district representative Amado S. Bagatsing said that this summer Sportsfest, now on its 25th year, is a testament to how committed KABAKA is on its objective of helping young people develop their talents and abilities, stating, “We are very thankful to see how far KABAKA sports programs have progressed developing the youth of Manila. We are very proud to see some of our past players here are now playing in big professional leagues.” 

The event’s opening ceremony, participated in by 200 teams from Manila, was graced by former Manila Mayor Lito Atienza's daughter Chi, Philippine Basketball Association’s scoring guard Adrian Nocum of Rain or Shine, former Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and Bagatsing, among others, last March 16, 2025. One of the highlights of the program was the unification of Bagatsing's KABAKA, Atienza's KABABAIHAN and Moreno's KAAGAPAY. It was the first time that the three organizations joined forces to promote the nation’s capital’s sports programs not only in basketball, but also in volleyball, taekwondo and boxing, among others projects. Bagatsing added, “KABAKA is not only about basketball, but also an avenue for our youth to excel in other sports. We are here to help the young athletes of Manila.” For his part, Moreno said he will revitalize and strengthen Manila’s sports in schools and communities. Over the years, KABAKA Sportsfests have produced athletes who have played in the PBA, National Collegiate Athletic Association, University Athletic Association of the Philippines, and other elite leagues.
