The recognition continues for culinary content creator Abi Marquez as she is once again been named FoodPHILIPPINES Advocate Par Excellence — a distinction she first received in 2024.The announcement was made during the “#BigTasteReveal: The 2025 IFEX Philippines Media Preview” held last May 15, 2025 at Casa Ibarra MOA in Pasay City. Organized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)'s Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM), the annual KATHA Awards for Food celebrates innovation and excellence in Philippine food products. Since 2015, the KATHA seal has become a mark of quality and creativity in the industry, raising the bar for Filipino exports on the world stage. Present at the event were IFEX Philippines Project Director Rowena Mendoza, CITEM Executive Director Leah Pulido Ocampo, Deputy Executive Director Malou Mediran, and CITEM Founder Dr. Mina Gabor.
Abi’s back-to-back recognition highlights her growing impact as one of the leading voices in modern Filipino food storytelling. From her viral reinventions of local classics — like the now-iconic Peach Mango Pie Lumpia — to heartfelt recipe videos that mix education with nostalgia, she has become a go-to source of both entertainment and trusted go-to recipes for food lovers around the world. Marquez shared in her speech, “Being named a FoodPHILIPPINES Advocate Par Excellence — for the second time now — feels like a full-circle moment. I started creating content because I loved food. I stayed because I realized how powerful food could be.” What began in her parents’ kitchen has evolved into a global platform. With over 8 million followers, multiple international accolades, and collaborations with culinary icons like Gordon Ramsay and Chef Nobu, Abi has proven that Filipino food doesn’t need translation — it just needs to be shared. She said, “Since the last time I stood here, I’ve cooked Filipino food in other countries with people from completely different backgrounds — and the beauty is, they loved it. Because great food speaks a universal language.”
This year, as part of her continued partnership with the FoodPHILIPPINES program, Abi is set to collaborate on fresh content for global platforms, including digital campaigns, international expos, and spotlight features that bring Filipino flavors to a wider audience. Referencing her Webby win and James Beard Award nomination, Abi said, “To some, these may look like personal milestones. But to me, they’re reminders that we don’t need to change who we are to be seen. We just need to show up — with our recipes, our stories, and our lumpia.” With every dish Abi shares, she reminds the world that Filipino food is a culture, history, and identity served on a plate. “Let’s keep cooking, keep sharing, and keep proving that Filipino food is world-class — because it always has been.”

The romantic-comedy film Everything About My Wife, directed by award-winning filmmaker Real Florido and written by seasoned screenwriter Rona Co, will be available on Netflix in the Philippines and most territories worldwide starting May 29, 2025. Reignite the feels and continue to spread pag-ibig from the comforts of your home when you stream this rom-com film on our beloved platform. Join Dom (Dennis Trillo) and Imo (Jennylyn Mercado) as they navigate the highs and lows of love and marriage.
To recap: Dom and Imo started out as lovers and eventually got married. But seven years later, Dom finds himself unhappily married and desperate to escape. In a moment of panic, he turns to notorious womanizer Miguel (Sam Milby) and asks him to seduce his wife. As Miguel and Imo grow closer, Dom realizes he’s made the gravest mistake of his life — Miguel unexpectedly falls for Imo. Despite Miguel’s growing affection and friendship, Imo discovers the scheme and feels deeply betrayed. Heartbroken, she decides to give Dom what he wants: an end to their marriage. But just as they part ways, their love resurfaces. Will Imo forgive Dom? The film’s adaptations from different countries have earned both commercial success and critical acclaim, beginning with the 2008 Argentine original Un novio para mi mujer, a box office hit, and the 2012 South Korean remake All About My Wife, which became one of the highest-grossing Korean films of that year. Its enduring appeal lies in universal themes of healing, forgiveness, and love’s capacity to restore broken relationships — resonating with audiences across cultures. While each version remains true to the emotional core of the story, what distinguishes them is the culturally distinct way each couple confronts and resolves their relationship struggles.
“Everything About My Wife is a story about second chances, reflection, and rediscovering love where you least expect it. We’re so excited that everyone can now enjoy it from the comforts of their homes or even on their mobile phones,” says Creazion Studios CEO RJ San Agustin.
