The Philippine Pickleball Federation (PPF) proudly announces its partnership with Skechers, the global comfort technology brand, as the official footwear sponsor for 2025. This collaboration marks a major milestone in PPF’s mission to grow pickleball throughout the country — from grassroots efforts to high-level competition — by aligning with a brand like Skechers Philippines that champions performance, inclusivity, and movement for all. “We at PPF have always put a high value in the sport of pickleball by making it accessible, healthily competitive, and fueled by the community’s passion. As we partner with Skechers, we are optimistic that pickleball players both seasoned and new are up for a whole new level of experience with footwear that supports athletic performance and comfort on the court,” says PPF Founder Mike Johnson.
Kicking off the partnership is the 1st Philippine Pickleball National Championship 2025, co-presented by Skechers Pickleball, held last May 30-June 1, 2025 at Dink & Shot in Marikina City. The championship gathered participants mostly from Metro Manila, Pangasinan, and Iloilo competing three competitive age divisions: 19+, 35+, and 55+. "This event brings together medalists from across the country. All of them are champions in their own right, and now they're competing to find the best of the best," said PPF President Armando Tantoco. "Maganda laban, it is extremely competitive," said PPF Tournaments Committee Chair Shawy Cu. Among the standout names on the court were top players Leander Lazaro, Sarah "SJ" Lim, and Anna Clarice Patrimonio, daughter of basketball legend Alvin Patrimonio, who is currently the top pickleball player in Asia. Skechers Philippines Country Manager Suzette Pasustento added, "It's exploding across different parts of the Philippines. We're excited to be part of this pioneering moment." With the successful launch of the National Championship, organizers and players alike are optimistic that the local pickleball community will only continue to grow — becoming stronger, larger, and more unified as it gains both local and international recognition.
