Acer Day 2025, held last August 9, 2025 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, was an epic night of technology, music, and star power with some of the country’s biggest artists sharing one stage. The highly anticipated concert was attended by over 50,000 live and online viewers, making it one of the hottest tech and youth events of the year. More importantly, the evening was a celebration of its theme “Break A Limit”, highlighting the drive to overcome obstacles, reach new milestones, and push boundaries. As a tech company, Acer’s mission is to provide the necessary tools that empower individuals to break their limits.
“Through the power of music and interactive brand experiences, Acer Day encourages people to go beyond their personal best and explore new possibilities with Acer’s technology,” said Acer Philippines Managing Director Sue Ong-Lim. The Mall of Asia Arena was a sea of green as fans and supporters braved the Saturday afternoon traffic for Acer and their favorite artists. Returning for its ninth consecutive year, Acer Day set the stage for performances by its star-studded roster of ambassadors Sarah Geronimo, SB19, and G22. Acer also welcomed its new ambassadors: Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition Housemates Klarisse De Guzman, Mika Salamanca, Shuvee Etrata, Esnyr Ranollo, Will Ashley, Brent Manalo, Ralph De Leon, and Charlie Fleming. They were joined by guest artists KMKZ, Itchyworms, and Maki. The event was hosted by Robi Domingo. As is Acer Day tradition, there were many collaborative stages, demonstrating that breaking the limit is possible. PBB Celebrity Collab winner duo BreKa performed “Tibok” by Earl Agustin, Ralph and Shuvee thrilled the crowd with “Palagi” by TJ Monterde and KZ Tandingan, and Klarisse and SB19’s Stell gave a vocal masterclass with “A Million Dreams”. Will, Charlie, and Esnyr showed their powerful dance moves along with SB19 in their song “CRIMZONE”.
The Honmoon was sealed with G22’s performance of “Golden” and Pop Royalty Sarah Geronimo showed MOA Arena why Popsters have remained loyal through the years as she performed “Tala” and “Kilometro”. SB19 did not disappoint the waiting crowd with their hits “DAM” and “DUNGKA!” More electrifying collaboration stages set the Mall of Asia Arena on fire with SB19 and G22’s performance of “8tonball” and the most anticipated first live performance of “Umaaligid” by SB19 and Sarah Geronimo. The night ended with Acer’s original song “Ace Your World”. “We are happy about the success of Acer Day 2025, which pushed the boundaries of technology and entertainment. We set out on a mission to break limits, and we achieved it,” said Acer Philippines Senior Marketing Manager Princess Laosantos.

In celebration of its 75th year anniversary, GMA Network launched "Ganito Tayo, Kapuso”, a special showcase of seven short films starring some of Sparkle GMA Artist Center’s brightest stars. Each short film spotlights one of seven core values: Maka-Diyos, Masayahin, Maabilidad, Makabayan, Mapagmalasakit, Mapagmahal, and Malikhain. These are brought to life through heartfelt performances and stories that resonate across generations of Filipinos.
• Tres Marias (Maka-Diyos): Mikee Quintos, Analyn Barro, Thea Tolentino, with the special participation of Kimson Tan, star as friends in need of a break from life's challenges. They go on a relaxing getaway and use the time for introspection. However, a sudden storm upsets their plans and makes their time away an ordeal. Will the friends make it through?
• G.G. (Masayahin): What happens when children become obsessed with gadgets and online games? Euwenn Mikaell, Sienna Stevens, Aljon Banaira, and Kzhoebe Baker play kids growing up in a digital world that emphasizes isolation. Concerned parents take them to a community playground and introduce the kids to the games they enjoyed in their childhood. How will interacting with other kids affect them?
• Rakatera (Maabilidad): Featuring Althea Ablan and Patricia Tumulak, the short film is about an aspiring teacher determined to persevere through the challenges and upheavals she faces. Fueled by passion, dedication, and hope, she makes ends meet in whatever way possible.
• Opo (Makabayan): Vaness del Moral, David Sean, and Ericca Laude star in a story about keeping close to cultural roots. A Filipino mother keeps her heritage alive by imparting Filipino traditions and practices to her children and also cooking her favorite dish – Binagoongan.
• The Job Interbrew (Mapagmalasakit): Allen Ansay and Maey Bautista, with the special participation of Sofia Pablo, bring to life the story of a young man on his way to a job interview who keeps getting sidetracked by having to help the people around him. His kindness makes him late, but this consequence leads to outcomes far greater than he has ever imagined.
• Para! Sa Pamilya (Mapagmahal): Matt Lozano and Heath Jornales star in a movie that looks back into the past. An elderly father recalls driving a jeepney with his young son and reflects on the joys they experienced despite sacrifices and reflects on how love and gratitude further strengthened their family ties.
• The Mami Returns (Malikhain) : Culinary talent and tech-savviness come together in this story which stars Anton Vinzon, with the special participation of Roi Vinzon, in The Mami Returns. The story delves into the passion, creativity, talent, and inventiveness that make even a dish as humble as a mami special, and in the age of online content, a viral sensation.

Ice Seguerra Unveils First All-Original Album ‘Being Ice’, Announces Two-Night Concert In September

After years of captivating audiences with timeless hits, iconic covers, and soul-stirring live performances, Filipino music icon and cultural trailblazer Ice Seguerra recently released what may be the most defining project of his nearly four-decade career — his album Being Ice, a deeply personal 8-track collection of all-original songs, featuring its lead single “Shelter Of The Broken” now available on all major streaming platforms — aligned with Pride Day and Metro Manila’s largest LGBTQIA+ celebration. More than a comeback, this marks a first. It is the first time Ice released a full-length album under Ice Seguerra and the first time he takes complete authorship — lyrically, emotionally, artistically.
“This is the most personal I’ve ever been. I’ve always written songs in bits and pieces, but this is the first time I’ve allowed the world to hear all of me — every fear, every hope, every truth — in one body of work,” says Seguerra. The past ten years have seen Seguerra in constant evolution. Beyond the music, he has emerged as a queer trailblazer, advocate, and storyteller. His 2022–2023 concert Becoming Ice was a sold-out celebration of transition, identity, and legacy. If Becoming Ice was about claiming space, then Being Ice is about living in it — completely, unapologetically. Although songs like “‘Wag Kang Aalis” and “Walang Hanggang Paalam” were released under his name, this is the first time Ice is releasing an album that is fully, truly his. It’s a full-circle creative moment that signals not only a new chapter, but a homecoming. “This isn’t just another album. This is a legacy moment. After decades of interpreting other people’s stories, Ice is finally telling his own,” says Fire & Ice Creative Producer Liza Diño.
The album also reunites Seguerra with longtime collaborator Jonathan Manalo, the country’s most-streamed songwriter and producer, along with artists Mike Villegas, Vince De Jesus, Trisha Denise, Ivan Lee Espinosa, and Diño herself. Each brings a signature touch to a body of work grounded in love, identity, healing, and truth. What began as a working title — I Am Ice — soon evolved into something more symbolic. Being Ice represents a shift from statement to embodiment. It is not just a name, but a way of living. As Diño puts it, “It’s Ice fully stepping into who he is. Authentically. Vulnerably. Brilliantly.”
