De La Salle Lipa (DLSL) stands as a commanding force in purpose-driven innovation, consistently proving that academic excellence gains its full meaning only when knowledge is translated into solutions that serve real institutions and communities. By aligning research, creativity, and ethical stewardship, the institution positions itself not merely as a generator of ideas but as a producer of technologies that shape practice, improve systems, and elevate institutional capability beyond its own campus.

Anchored in its commitment to responsible innovation, De La Salle Lipa advances a model of technology development that is collaborative, transferable, and socially consequential. Through strategic partnerships such as this, the institution strengthens its reputation as a trusted academic institution capable of bridging technical expertise with values-driven application — reinforcing its influence in the wider ecosystem of education, faith formation, and community service. On January 29, 2026, De La Salle Lipa formalized this commitment through the Ceremonial Signing of the Technology Transfer Agreement (TTA) between the College of Information Technology and Engineering – IT Department and St. Francis de Sales Major Seminary at the Chez Rafael Function Hall. The technology transferred is a software-based Donation Monitoring System developed by DLSL student-inventors for the Seminary’s internal operations and institutional use. While its specific functionalities remain confidential in respect of the students’ trade secrets, the system is intended to strengthen administrative processes and enable more structured management of donations within the partner institution.

The program opened with remarks from DLSL Vice Chancellor for Research, Innovation, and Internationalization Dr. Sheila Maloles who underscored that technology must be guided by purpose and anchored in values. She recognized the strategic role of the IT Department in advancing innovation while affirming the significance of partnerships that link technical expertise, education, and institutional service. Representing the IT Department, Vanessa Isaga reflected on how a modest academic project evolved into a fully deployable technological solution. She highlighted the contributions of student innovators Kurt Collin Yermo, Neil Ivan Atienza, Elizabeth Andal, and Jashia Eimonah Deveza, whose work moved beyond coursework and into real institutional application — demonstrating the institution’s culture of applied learning. On behalf of the licensors, Neil Ivan Atienza expressed appreciation to St. Francis de Sales Major Seminary for embracing the system and providing a venue where student-driven innovation could meaningfully serve a faith-based educational community. The ceremonial signing — led by Dr. Maloles, Fr. Juan Carlos Coloso, and Atienza — symbolized a shared institutional commitment to responsible technology transfer and collaborative advancement. In his message, Fr. Coloso acknowledged De La Salle Lipa’s role as a partner in innovation and affirmed the Seminary’s intent to build on this collaboration through future joint initiatives. The program concluded with closing remarks from IT Program Chair Rodante Chavez who reaffirmed the department’s dedication to developing technologies that are not only technically sound but socially purposeful.

This Technology Transfer Agreement materially strengthens De La Salle Lipa by deepening its practice of knowledge commercialization, institutional partnership, and real-world deployment of academic outputs. The collaboration expands the institution’s external impact, enhances its credibility as an innovation partner, and reinforces its capacity to transform student research into systems that operate beyond the campus, solidifying its stature as a regional leader in responsible technology development. For current students, this milestone provides a concrete model of how their projects can evolve into functional, institution-serving technologies, sharpening their technical competence, professional confidence, and readiness for industry or graduate study. For prospective students, the partnership signals that De La Salle Lipa offers more than theoretical instruction: it provides pathways where learning leads to real innovation, institutional collaboration, and measurable societal impact.
