Netflix continues to expand its global storytelling reach with the upcoming release of Agent From Above, one of five original Chinese-language productions set to premiere worldwide starting April 2, 2026. Produced in collaboration with mm2 Entertainment and Good Films Production, Agent From Above stands out as one of the most ambitious fantasy projects to emerge from Taiwan. The series blends traditional Taiwanese folk beliefs with modern storytelling, creating a visually rich universe filled with gods, spirits, monsters, and humans. Together, they navigate a world where the boundaries between the living and the supernatural are constantly shifting. Pinoy rock icons The Dawn returns to the big stage with another major concert celebrating their 40th anniversary in the local music industry. Following the successful staging of Ballet & Ballads, a special collaboration between the band and Ballet Manila held early this year, The Dawn is gearing up for another special show featuring the current band lineup and some exciting surprises that will surely make headlines once announced.
Dubbed “Kwarenta”, the highly anticipated concert will take place at The Theatre at Solaire on June 27, 2026. The concert also marks The Dawn’s legacy as one of the pillars of Filipino rock music, producing remarkable classics that resonate with listeners of all ages and backgrounds. Directed by Paolo Valenciano, Kwarenta will showcase a career-spanning setlist drawn from The Dawn’s 1987 self-titled debut up to 2018’s Ascendant, signaling an even more ambitious and carefully curated production — both in concept and design. Emerging in the mid-1980s, The Dawn helped define the modern Filipino band movement. Over the decades, the band has built a formidable catalog anchored by enduring anthems such as “Enveloped Ideas”, “Salamat”, and “Iisang Bangka” which have transcended eras and shifted cultural discussions. The pop-rock hitmakers are heading to the land of vibrant night markets for Akin Ka Na Lang TAIWAN Part 2 — a three-city tour that will once again bring their signature wit, warmth, and crowd-rousing sing-alongs to Taiwan’s eclectic live scene, proving that great music knows no borders.
The iconic band’s previous tour struck a chord with diverse audiences in Taiwan, reinforcing what Jugs Jugueta puts simply: “Music is a universal language.” Apart from charming Taiwanese locals who have learned to appreciate music outside of their turf, The Itchyworms have always been vocal in deepening their connections with Filipinos abroad. ABS-CBN Music Launches First OPM Band “The Red Strings” Formed Through YouTube Docu-Reality Series

ABS-CBN Music has officially launched The Red Strings, the company’s first original OPM band, formed through the YouTube docu-reality series “The Next Big Band”. The six-member group was unveiled during the finale episode of the series through a launch party and contract signing under ABS-CBN’s alternative rock label DNA Music. “It has always been the mission of the company to discover new artists, develop them, and help them reach their fullest potential. I know these kids will be the voice of their generation,” said ABS-CBN Music Head of Creatives, Content, and Operations Jonathan Manalo.
The band is composed of Gello Marquez (vocalist), Cedryck Guda (drums), Llana Catudio (keyboard), Nicholas De Rosales (bass guitar), Mychole Liam Barba (electric guitar), and Risen Santos (acoustic guitar). The group’s name was inspired by the “red string theory”, symbolizing their destined path to create music together. During the launch event, The Red Strings performed a feel-good setlist featuring three original songs: “Asado”, a playful track about being “delulu” or delusional in love; “Nasa Ulap”, an upbeat song inspired by organic encounters; and “Kupido”, a lovestruck track about being stuck in a situationship.
ABS-CBN Music head Roxy Liquigan and DNA Music head Gab Tagadtad also attended the contract signing event. The Red Strings was formed through “The Next Big Band”, ABS-CBN’s YouTube original docu-reality series that documented the search and journey of aspiring musicians before the final group was selected. All episodes of the show are now available on the ABS-CBN Entertainment YouTube channel, the most subscribed media and entertainment channel in Southeast Asia with over 54.7 million subscribers.
