De La Salle Lipa reinforced its commitment to research-driven and globally engaged education as it hosted the 3rd Senior High School International Research Forum and Cultural Exchange last March 9, 2026, bringing together student researchers and educators from schools across CALABARZON and international partner institutions. The forum served as a dynamic platform for young scholars to present research, exchange perspectives, and engage in collaborative learning that reflects the Lasallian tradition of inquiry and innovation.
True to its theme, the forum was organized and led by members of the Senior High School Research Varsity Program (RVP) under the guidance of the SHS Research and CAPSTONE Department. The event gathered approximately 400 delegates who presented a total of 139 research studies from participating schools across the region and Wakasa Senior High School in Japan. The forum also welcomed online participants from Taiwan, including students collaborating with RVP members on international research projects, as well as participants from CCC Tam Lee Lai Fun Secondary School in Hong Kong. Designed to encourage deeper engagement among participants, this year’s forum introduced interactive activities that allowed students to collaborate beyond formal presentations. The program opened with group socialization activities followed by the Rapid Ideation Sprint, where mixed teams composed of students from different schools worked together to propose solutions to selected global issues. The teams later presented their ideas during the plenary session held at the Sentrum, highlighting innovative and research-informed approaches to contemporary challenges. At the heart of the forum were the plenary and parallel research presentations, where students shared the results of their studies before fellow researchers, faculty members, and academic mentors. The research projects explored a range of topics, with many aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), demonstrating the participants’ commitment to addressing real-world issues through scholarly inquiry and evidence-based discussion. Complementing the academic sessions were cultural presentations from De La Salle Lipa and participating schools, also held at the Sentrum. Through music, dance, and artistic performances, students celebrated Filipino culture while sharing elements of their own traditions, promoting intercultural appreciation and strengthening connections among the participating institutions.
By hosting the international forum, De La Salle Lipa continues to strengthen its academic environment through meaningful research engagement and collaborative initiatives with partner schools locally and abroad. The activity also highlights the institution’s ongoing efforts to cultivate research excellence and expand opportunities for global academic interaction at the senior high school level. For current students, the forum offers valuable opportunities to present research, collaborate with peers from different institutions, and develop confidence in scholarly discourse within an international setting. For prospective students, it reflects how De La Salle Lipa provides a learning environment that integrates research, innovation, and global collaboration — preparing learners to engage thoughtfully with complex global challenges.

De La Salle Lipa advanced its innovation agenda last February 12, 2026 as NEXUS Innovation Labs and the Intellectual Property Office (NIPO) mounted the X-LIPAD Drone Demonstration at the DLSL Oval. The initiative presented one of the country’s pioneering locally developed drone systems, engineered for educational and commercial applications and supported by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST). By hosting the demonstration, DLSL reinforced its institutional direction: integrating advanced technologies into academic delivery to ensure that learning remains relevant, applied, and future-oriented.
The live demonstration, led by Engr. Leonard Ambata of De La Salle University - Manila’s Electronics and Computer Engineering Department together with the NIPO team, showcased the drone’s flight control systems in an actual campus environment. The program then transitioned to a structured hands-on session at the 4th Floor NEXUS Innovation Labs where students tested the drones individually — moving from observation to direct technical engagement. The activity, streamed on De La Salle Lipa’s official Facebook page, extended participation beyond the venue and reflected the institution’s inclusive innovation culture, with Integrated School, Senior High School, and College students, as well as faculty and administrators, in attendance. By mounting the X-LIPAD demonstration, De La Salle Lipa strengthens its research and innovation ecosystem. The initiative supports intellectual property development, expands institutional collaboration with technology experts, and enhances the School’s capacity to embed engineering and applied sciences within interdisciplinary learning. It reinforces DLSL’s position as an academic environment where emerging technologies are not peripheral exhibits but integrated components of instruction and research engagement.
For current students, this translates into structured exposure to real-world systems, experiential learning opportunities, and early interaction with innovation-driven industries. For prospective students and their families, the demonstration signals a campus where technology, research, and entrepreneurship intersect — offering an education that is technically grounded, application-oriented, and aligned with evolving industry demands. At De La Salle Lipa, innovation is not an abstract concept; it is a working platform for learning and advancement.

De La Salle Lipa stands as a formidable center of creative scholarship and socially responsive education in Southern Luzon, an institution that does not merely teach communication but shapes storytellers who influence culture, conscience, and public discourse. Its training in media and the arts is anchored on rigor, professional discipline, and a distinct Lasallian commitment to meaningful impact beyond the screen, the stage, and the classroom. From this culture of disciplined creativity and purpose-driven storytelling emerge artists whose work embodies the very ideals the institution upholds.
Last December 19, 2025, AB Communication second-year student Rio Rodney Sandoval earned the Special Award for Best Sound Design and Original Musical Scoring at Sine Agri 2025 for his short film “Ang Essay Ni Gabo”. His work demonstrates sophisticated audio storytelling, using sound not as mere background but as a narrative force that brings texture, emotion, and meaning to the lived realities of farmers. The film amplifies agricultural voices with clarity and respect, translating everyday labor into a resonant cinematic experience. Organized by the Department of Agriculture IV-CALABARZON (DA-4A) through its Regional Agriculture and Fisheries Information Section (RAFIS), Sine Agri 2025: Kabataan Sa Agrikultura Para Sa Masaganang Bagong Pilipinas is a prestigious regional filmmaking platform that engages youth in agri-fishery advocacy through film. Sandoval’s recognition, with the awarding held at the Argosino Hall of the Lipa Agricultural Research and Experiment Station (LARES), places De La Salle Lipa among institutions whose students are not only technically skilled but nationally relevant in shaping discourse through media. This recognition strengthens De La Salle Lipa’s institutional standing by reinforcing its reputation as an institution that cultivates high-caliber creative professionals whose work gains credibility in government-led, industry-recognized platforms. It expands the visibility of DLSL’s AB Communication program, demonstrating its capacity to produce award-winning practitioners and positioning the institution as a preferred hub for serious, socially engaged media education.
For current students, Sandoval’s achievement affirms that their training can lead to real-world distinction and meaningful advocacy, motivating them to pursue excellence with confidence and purpose. For prospective learners, it signals that De La Salle Lipa offers more than technical instruction; it provides a launchpad for national recognition, professional credibility, and impactful storytelling grounded in the Lasallian mission.
