Anticipation is building for the Games Of The Future 2026 (GOTF 2026), set to take place in Astana, Kazakhstan this summer. Positioned at the intersection of sport, gaming and entertainment, the event will once again bring together a global community of athletes, industry leaders and innovators and shaping the next generation of competition.
From July 29 to August 9, Astana will be transformed into a multi-venue stage for the Games Of The Future 2026 as more than 900 participants from over 50 countries compete across eight disciplines spanning phygital sport and leading eSports titles. Across four state-of-the-art venues, athletes will compete for a multi-million US dollar prize pool, delivering a global showcase of competition. Designed as an integrated, multi-format event, the Games Of The Future continues to set a new benchmark for how sport and entertainment are experienced, combining elite competition with immersive, fan-focused environments. Beyond competition, the Games Of The Future will be embedded within a broader city-wide festival programme. Visitors can expect a dynamic cultural offering including live concerts by international artists and major entertainment events taking place across the capital. A standout crossover for fans from the gaming and entertainment communities will be the integration with Comic Con Astana (August 5-9) which will serve as one of the official stages of the Games Of The Future 2026. Attracting more than 100,000 visitors last year, the event will run alongside the competition, bringing together global communities across gaming, pop culture and digital entertainment – placing phygital sport directly in front of one of the most engaged and culturally relevant audiences worldwide. Alongside the GOTF action, the Phygital Sport Summit will return on July 29, convening global leaders from sport, technology, gaming and innovation. Building on a successful 2025 edition which featured speakers including Ballon d’Or winner Luis Figo, the summit will once again provide a platform to shape the future of sport, exploring how technology, new formats and evolving fan behaviours are redefining the industry.
Phygital International International Marketing and Communications Director John Hewitt commented, “With 100 days to go, we are entering a defining phase in the lead-up to Astana. The continued growth of the Games of the Future reflects the strength of the phygital model, not only as a competitive format, but as a platform that brings together sport, gaming and entertainment at scale. Building on the success of 2025, this year’s edition will further expand the reach of the Games, deepen engagement with global audiences, and create new opportunities across the wider ecosystem.” As the road to Astana intensifies, several standout names are already confirmed for the Games Of The Future 2026, offering an early glimpse of the level of competition to come. Among them are reigning Phygital Football champions México Quetzales – Armadillos FC who return undefeated and determined to defend their title alongside XGoat in Phygital Shooter and leading phygital dancer Ivan Vlasov. They will be joined by top-ranked teams from the 2025/2026 season that have already secured direct qualification including a strong South African contingent competing across Phygital Football, Basketball, Dancing, and Shooter. Together, these established names will set the stage for a new wave of challengers emerging from Phygital Contenders Astana (June 10–15), where the final spots at the Games will be decided.
