Philippine broadcast media powerhouse GMA Network Inc. officially joined forces with Viva Music Group to strengthen the Filipino music industry through GMV Studios, a joint venture corporation focused on elevating Original Pilipino Music (OPM) and Filipino artists on both the local and international stage. Marking a bold new chapter in GMA Network's strategic expansion in the entertainment industry, this landmark business venture builds on the successful collaboration between GMA Network and Viva Communications Inc. in recent years.
Through this venture, GMA Network brings its multi-platform programs, nationwide broadcast reach, and pool of successful and promising talents to the table — complemented by Viva Music Group's diverse catalogue, network of chart-topping artists, and production expertise. The contract signing held last June 5, 2026 at the Viva Communications headquarters brought together GMA Network Senior Vice President Annette Gozon-Valdes, Sparkle GMA Artist Center First Vice President Joy Marcelo, and Sparkle GMA Artist Center Talent Management Assistant Vice President Tracy Garcia alongside Viva Group of Companies Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Vicente "Boss Vic" Del Rosario Jr., Vicor Music President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) Antonio M. Ocampo, and Viva Records Corporation President Verb Del Rosario. Also present during the signing were Viva Communications Inc. President Vincent Del Rosario, Studio Viva President and COO Valerie Del Rosario, and Sparkle Consultant Lawrence Tan. Meanwhile, Sparkle artists Ysabel Ortega, Jeff Moses, Anthony Rosaldo, Princess Aliyah, Vianna Ricafranca, and Sparkle's P-Pop girl group Dollipop officially introduced as part of GMV Records' initial roster which Del Rosario described as artists with strong potential to become major stars in the entertainment industry. Gozon-Valdes emphasized that the collaboration goes beyond a simple business agreement, noting that the two entertainment giants have established a joint venture corporation dedicated solely to nurture talent in the music industry, stating, “This partnership is really a long-term partnership because this is a joint venture corporation formed by GMA and Viva for artists who we will push and manage in the music industry.”
Gozon-Valdes also expressed confidence in Viva's expertise in artist development, citing the company's decades-long track record in discovering and shaping some of the country's most successful performers, sharing, “So we're very happy that Viva is a partner in this because we know the history of Viva, Viva Music, Viva Records in being able to spot and hone great artists and performers and we hope that through this joint venture we will be able to realize the potential of the artists that we have and also the artists that we both will sign up in this company.” For Del Rosario, the collaboration between GMA Network and Viva would allow artists to expand beyond music and build careers across multiple entertainment platforms. “Some of them are already very popular and I think with this tie-up, we can strengthen their career and make them really popular and make them into a multimedia star from recording to the live theater to movies and eventually a lot of endorsements.” Through GMA Network's music arm GMA Music, this collaboration with Viva Music Group underscores GMA Network's commitment to celebrating the world-class artistry of Filipino musicians. By spearheading expanded opportunities for local artists, GMA Network reaffirms its role as a champion of the Philippine music industry.
With a shared commitment to promoting cultural pride through music, GMA Network's historic alliance with Viva Communications Inc. positions the Philippines as a competitive force in the global music landscape, creating new avenues for music discovery and consumption among diverse audiences.
