BRAVE Combat Federation has always prided itself on being the most global mixed martial arts organization in the world. Over the years, the promotion has provided a platform for athletes from every corner of the globe to showcase their talent and pursue championship glory. Today, that global vision has produced a remarkable milestone for the African continent. For the first time in BRAVE CF history, three African athletes simultaneously hold championship gold in the organization. This underlines the continent's growing influence within the promotion and across the international MMA landscape.
Leading this historic achievement is BRAVE CF Interim Super Welterweight World Champion Alex ‘Da Killa King’ Lohoré (26-12-0). A true representative of the African diaspora, Lohoré proudly carries the flags of Côte d'Ivoire, France, and England. His championship journey reached its pinnacle at BRAVE CF 100 last November 2025 where he captured interim gold and further cemented his status as one of the division's elite competitors on the global stage. Lohoré’s success extends beyond individual accomplishment. His story embodies the global reach of African talent, showcasing how global athletes with African roots continue to make their mark across multiple continents while remaining connected to their heritage. In Southern Africa, Zimbabwe’s Nicholas ‘The Saint’ Hwende (11-2-0) has become one of the promotion's most decorated champions. After previously reigning as BRAVE CF Bantamweight World Champion, Hwende made history once again at BRAVE CF 105 by capturing the Undisputed Featherweight World Championship. Hwende's rise has been nothing short of inspirational and the effects have been felt across the continent. His achievements have elevated Zimbabwe's presence on the global MMA stage and established him as one of Africa's premier mixed martial artists. As the standard-bearer for Sub-Saharan African MMA within BRAVE Combat Federation, Hwende continues to demonstrate the depth of talent emerging from the region. The continental rise continues as North Africa has its own champion leading the charge. Mohamed “L’Ambiance” Said Maalem (15-6-1) captured the Undisputed BRAVE CF Light Heavyweight World Championship at BRAVE CF 106 last June 6, 2026, adding another chapter to his remarkable career. Fiercely representing Algeria while also maintaining strong ties to Switzerland, Said Maalem has become a prominent figure not only for Algerian MMA but for the broader MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region. His championship victory further highlights the rapid growth of mixed martial arts across the Arab world where BRAVE CF has played a significant role in developing and showcasing elite talent over the last ten years.
Together, these three champions represent different dimensions of Africa's presence within BRAVE Combat Federation. Three champions with unique journeys and different representations of African identity – but they all converge to elevate the African continent in BRAVE Combat Federation and global mixed martial arts. Their collective success serves as a powerful symbol of Africa’s increasing influence in professional mixed martial arts. With championship gold spread across multiple divisions, the continent has become one of the most significant forces within the promotion. It becomes a testament of how African fighters are not just simply participating in global MMA competitions, but increasingly becoming the athletes shaping championship landscapes and influencing the future direction of the sport. This historic achievement also reinforces BRAVE CF’s commitment to international representation. As African athletes continue to secure major victories and championship opportunities, their role within the organization has evolved from participation to leadership, highlighting a strong statement that Africa’s presence in BRAVE CF is no longer measured solely by representation. Through its champions, the continent is helping shape the promotion’s future and establishing itself as a driving force in global MMA. Today, Africa is not merely participating in the BRAVE CF story – it is helping lead it. With championship gold spread across the continent and beyond, the African continent's influence has never been stronger inside the BRAVE CF arena.
