Lenovo celebrated the successful conclusion of the historic FIFA World Cup 2026™ as FIFA’s Official Technology Partner, delivering AI-powered solutions that supported the biggest sporting event in history. Spanning three countries, 16 cities, 48 teams, and 104 matches, Lenovo provided devices, infrastructure, services, and AI innovations with 99.99% uptime, helping power FIFA operations, global broadcasts, officiating, team analysis, and fan experiences.
Lenovo deployed more than 25,000 Lenovo and Motorola devices across over 600 FIFA sites, supported by 350 engineers and specialists. Its technology ecosystem ensured seamless tournament operations watched by billions of fans worldwide. One of Lenovo’s biggest innovations was FIFA AI Pro, an AI-powered analytics platform that gave all 48 teams equal access to advanced match data and insights. Built using Lenovo’s AI capabilities, the platform analyzed millions of data points and over 2,000 performance metrics, allowing coaches and analysts to access official football intelligence in 16 languages through natural language queries. Lenovo also introduced Referee View, an AI-powered broadcast feature that provided fans with the referee’s perspective using stabilized body-camera footage. The technology reduced camera shake by up to 60%, creating smoother live broadcasts and enhancing fan engagement. It also developed 3D digital avatars for all 1,248 players to improve Semi-Automated Offside Technology replays, making officiating decisions clearer and easier to understand. Behind the scenes, Lenovo’s Intelligent Command Center gave FIFA a centralized, real-time view of tournament operations by combining data from more than 40 functional areas. The company also powered broadcast operations, IPTV distribution, edge computing, and digital workplace solutions, ensuring reliable operations across the tournament.
Beyond technology, Lenovo continued its commitment to inclusion through the Lenovo Foundation, expanding access to technology for communities beyond the tournament. The FIFA World Cup 2026™ showcased Lenovo’s vision of “Smarter AI For All”, demonstrating how AI, combined with infrastructure, devices, and services, can improve experiences for teams, officials, broadcasters, organizers, and fans. As FIFA prepares for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™ in Brazil, Lenovo will continue working with FIFA to make football more accessible, engaging, and intelligent through technology.
