Student journalists from the city of Lipa have already attained their own glory in their respective competitions with two of the city's finest school publications proving that they can be at par with those in other cities and provinces all over the country when it comes to campus journalism.

Lipeños Cup, the official student-community publication of Lipa City National High School, was first hailed as one of the best secondary school publications in the country after placing 4th out of 170 school papers competing in the 2018 National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) held last February 23-28, 2018 at Silliman University in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental. The Cup was also the best in design and layout and placed 6th for Best News Section as well as 7th Best Sports Section.

On the other hand, The Brahman's Journal bested collegiate publications from all over Luzon and parts of Visayas and Mindanao as the Best Magazine at the 2018 Luzonwide Higher Education Press Conference held last February 28-March 4, 2018 in Baguio City. The official publication of the University of Batangas - Lipa City Campus won the award for its November-December 2017 issue (pictured) which is all about the city of Lipa and how it will cope in today's modern world as well as future endeavors.

It is interesting to know that the Lipeños Cup would be able to persevere in what is dubbed the Olympics of Philippine campus journalism. On the other hand, I was utterly impressed at how The Brahmans' Journal was able to furnish its own sleuth of interesting stories in just a short span of time. But what makes these two publications similar is that they have attained such glory the second time around, and I'm not kidding about it. With that in mind, I would extend my congratulations to both Lipeños Cup and The Brahmans' Journal for making my hometown proud.
