The Chinese-based mobile phone brand officially signed the partnership deal with Philippine television network TV5 in a gala event held last February 18, 2017 at the City of Dreams. OPPO hopes that it becomes successful in its collaboration with the team behind Philippines' Next Top Model considering that it was the official partner of America's Next Top Model Cycle 22 in 2015 where contestants were given selfie challenges involving the selfie-centric features of the R7 and R7 Plus smartphones. The sponsorship is also an opportunity to OPPO to showcase the other side of the brand which puts focus on fashion and lifestyle.

Aside from the announcement of the TV5-OPPO sponsorship deal, the gala event was also highlighted by a mini-fashion show featuring the season's contestants strutting their own stuff and taking their fiercest selfie using their own OPPO smartphone.

The new season of Philippines' Next Top Model, which is eventually ten years in the making, is set to be a fiercer comeback for the reality fashion show with former Binibining Pilipinas-World Maggie Wilson hosting the show and even heading a panel of judges who will choose a winner among 24 contestants. Among the said panel are celebrity stylist Rain Dagala and Professional Models Association of the Philippines president Raf Kiefe. In addition, Miss International 2016 Kylie Versoza will be joining them as a judge and model mentor.
