Thousands of local and international tourists have flocked to Boracay Island during the long holiday weekend just to enjoy non-stop fun and entertainment offered by numerous companies transforming the island into a big party venue, but what awaited the island after all is said and done is the thousands of trash that may cause health and environmental problems to the island and its community. This is where Globe Telecom makes a stand and assured that the country's favorite summer gateway is back to its prestige form before and after the festivities during the Labor Day weekend.

As part of the LaBoracay festivities which included the #GlobeSunkissed party, the definitive purveyor of the Filipino digital lifestyle organized a group of volunteers to scour White Beach, Station 1 every morning from April 29 to May 1, 2017 to rid the area of garbage. These volunteers include Globe employees, media partners, the local government's solid waste management team, and representatives from Cambridge University Press. After three days, they have collected 130 bags of garbage which is deemed a huge success for cleanliness and sustainability. Not only that, the group has also donated new trash bins that were decorated with water-based point to Sea Wind and White House resorts.

Apart from the clean-up activity, 25 Globe employees and guests were also involved in the planting of coral fragments in nursery rafts provided by Boracay Foundation Inc. (BFI), a non-profit organization aimed at sustaining the island's environmental, business and social needs. These corals were later transferred to the foundation's identified underwater nurseries. The said activity aims to raise awareness and educate those living in and/or visiting the island about the importance of coral transportation which is one of the many ways to help ensure marine life biodiversity, environment conservation and sustainable eco-tourism.
