A Silent Voice

Hollywood blockbusters are literally dominating the Philippine movie scene in terms of box-office sales, but it is unusually rare for films made in other countries outside the US and the Philippines to make an impact across local movie buffs. A Silent Voice (translated in Japanese as Koe no Kotachi) is one of the recently-released films that has created such momentum across hundreds of local cinemas nationwide.

Pioneer Films, the Philippine distributor of the said film, claims that A Silent Voice is now regarded as the number one movie in the country due to its expanded reach and based on the overwhelming support from movie buffs more particularly the movie's biggest fans, the local anime community. I guess word of mouth in different ways has certainly worked for the Japanese film to become popular.

Anyway, Pioneer Films did not disclose how much it gross in the cinemas, but it can be worth noticing that it has created a stir in the local cinema scene to the delight of anime fans.
