ABS-CBN Corporation, the premiere media and entertainment company in
the Philippines, brings well-loved Filipino superheroes to life anew with the
recent launch of Ravelo Komiks Superheroes, a brand that is heavily inspired by
the legendary works of the late Mars Ravelo.
The launch marked the company's release of exclusively licensed merchandise
such as shirts, tumblers and other related novelty items bearing illustrations
of popular Filipino comic heroes Darna, Lastikman and Captain Barbell. It also
marked the creation of collectible character statues which also include the
iconic villainess Valentina, all designed and produced by Halimaw Sculptures.
Included in the merchandise is the much-awaited card game "Si Darna
At Ang Nawawalang Bato" which is set to become available in toy and hobby
stores nationwide in the coming months. Many attendees have tried and eventually
enjoyed the game at the Ravelo Komiks Superheroes booth at the recently held
Philippine Toys, Hobbies and Collectibles Convention (TOYCON PH) 2017 at the
SMX Convention Center where the brand was launched.
The said launch was graced by Liza Soberano, who is officially tapped
as the Darna of the millennial generation, considering that the reboot movie
from Star Cinema and acclaimed filmmaker Erik Matti is due to be shown in
Philippine cinemas by next year. Similar to Liza's message to those who have
watched the launch, the Ravelo Komiks Superheroes brand will inspire and inform
Filipinos of all ages to continue supporting the legacy of not just our own
superheroes, but also of homegrown comics of past, present and future.
