The Philippines has officially made its first crystal-clear public call
at a nationwide retailers' conference and it was all made possible thanks to what
is considered to be the most advanced basic mobile phone that will hit local
stores nationwide soon - the Starmobile FeatureSmart Evo1.
Officially launched by Star Telecom Alliance Resources (STAR) Inc. in
partnership with Smart Communications, the Starmobile FeatureSmart Evo 1 is a
typical dual SIM feature phone with 4G LTE connectivity that makes use of VoLTE
(Voice over LTE) technology. VoLTE uses 4G LTE networks to send and receive voice
data which led to static-free crystal clear calls, but not all LTE-capable mobile
devices are VoLTE-enabled.
Regardless, the technology can provide better sound quality while
making calls compared to that of VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) services
such as Skype and Viber. The FeatureSmart Evo 1 has an easy call setup feature
where users don't need to take time in making calls to their friends and loved
ones. All they need to do is to key in the mobile number on the feature phone
and press the call button.
Always remember that the sender and receiver must have VoLTE-capable mobile
phones on LTE-enabled networks to enjoy the full benefits of the technology.
Otherwise, the phone will automatically 'step-down' to 2G or 3G. For those
living in areas where VoLTE is not yet available, no need to fret because they
can use the FeatureSmart Evo1 to make regular 2G or 3G calls.
