The 2018 Asia Pacific Predator League, a new e-sports event featuring the
hit online competitive multiplayer strategy game DOTA 2, is already underway
and the first shots have been fired on its Philippine leg with the Visayas and Mindanao
qualifiers in the books.
Organized by Predator Gaming and highly regarded as a much-awaited pro
gaming tournament to watch out for in the Asia Pacific region, the finest DOTA
2 teams from seven different countries are out to bring their game on and compete
for pride and glory. Kicking off the Predator League are a series of elimination
rounds being held in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, India, Hong Kong,
Philippines and Indonesia where the emerging victors of these qualifiers will
represent their own respective countries in the Grand Finals with a prize pool
of US$@150,000 at stake.
The Philippine leg consists of four regional qualifiers which will be
staged in various parts of the country. Winners of these qualifiers will not
only receive a higher share of the Php30,000 pool but also move on to the National
Finals for a chance at a lion's share of the Php100,000 prize pool and to
represent the Philippines in the Predator League Grand Finals which will take
place early next year in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Predator Gaming Philippines is hopeful that the Predator League will
harness the potential and even unlock many opportunities for Filipino pro
gamers to showcase their own skills in future international competitions. By
the way, the Philippine leg of the 2018 Asia Pacific Predator League is made
possible through Predator's long-time e-sports partner THENET.COM (TNC) and has
eventually earned the support from TNC Pro Gaming. It is quite impressive to
think that the partnership between Predator and TNC would further push the
Philippine e-sports scene to new heights. With that in mind, Filipino gaming
enthusiasts should expect more endeavors and bigger plans for the local pro
gaming scene in the coming months.
