Global
mobile and PC brand Lenovo in collaboration with entertainment giant Disney
recently unveiled an innovative and intriguing augmented reality (AR)
experience which will bring Filipino pop culture buffs closer to the world of
Star Wars and eventually allow them to immerse in a science fantasy world
populated by Jedi Masters, Dark Side followers, brave fighters of the Rebel
Alliance and the tyrannical leaders of the Galactic Empire.
Entitled
"Star Wars: Jedi Challenges", the experience is slated to feature numerous
hours of Star Wars gameplay and it will be powered by a Lenovo Mirage AR
headset, a tracking beacon and a perfectly sculpted Anakin Skywalker Lightsaber
controller. The AR experience will be imbued with games such as Lightsaber
Battles where players fight Stormtroopers and Sith Lords; Holochess that plays
like the same mechanical playset found onboard the Millennium Falcon; taking
charge of an army and commanding a battle between the Rebel Forces and Galactic
Empire; and so much in store.
First-time
players are encouraged to download the free mobile app on their smartphone,
activate the lightsaber controller and equipping the phone with the Mirage AR
headset in order to enter the virtual world of the Star Wars universe. They
will then be greeted by The Archivist where he will instruct you through the
ways of the Force and how to properly become a Jedi as well as offer tutorial
courses on how to fight the likes of Kylo Ren and Darth Vader. Hence, The Archivist
is considered as a guide to the newly-engaging Star Wars experience.
