With the one-year validity period for prepaid load in effect, many Filipino mobile subscribers are concerned on having their own being stolen without any precedence. Some already have their loads reduced to as low as zero on their mobile devices upon either loading in their preferred stations or performing useless transactions on supposed mobile games. Fear not, as telecommunications companies ensure customers that they are exerting efforts against the situation.
In fact, Globe Telecom is enforcing tighter rules that can protect its consumers against questionable practices of companies offering third-party value-added services which are made to be only on feature phones and not on smartphones resulting in prepaid load deduction or in Filipino terms "nakaw load". This came following a viral video on social media regarding a Globe subscriber's irate disappointment on his or her prepaid load concern.
Globe assures its customers that it will penalize partner content providers who are resorting to fraud. It also encourages customers to help combat against "nakaw load" in two different ways: verify the service status or disconnect to the service via SMS upon receiving text messages with an access code and take advantage of Globe's Load Watch which will notify them of real-time updates on their prepaid load balance and usage. These may not eliminate the situation, but at least any of these two can help you avoid it.
Before I started this blog, I have seen television commercials of content providers offering automatic access to Java games for a small nominal fee. With the advent of powerful and more engaging mobile devices in the market today, I thought of asking "Who needs Java games, anyway?" Well, at least this read will help you get through your mobile load troubles.
