ABS-CBN Corporation, the premiere media and entertainment company in the
Philippines, has won big in the 2018 New York Festivals - World's Best TV and
Films Awards which was held last April 10, 2018 and leading the company's sleuth
of awards from the prestigious international award-giving body is the documentary
"Di Ka Pasisiil".
The documentary that chronicles the events of last year's Marawi siege
won the Gold World Medal award in the Coverage for a Continuing News Story
category, and accepting the said award were no less than Jeff Canoy and Chiara
Zambrano who has made the documentary possible through their relentless and
courageous narration of what happened in Marawi. Produced by ABS-CBN DocuCentral
and first aired on ABS-CBN last August 13, 2017, "Di Ka Pasisiil"
takes viewers to the first months of the Marawi siege and tackles the changes
caused by the war as well as how the soldiers respond to protect the Islamic
City of Marawi from terrorists.
ABS-CBN also bagged a Silver World Medal award for ABS-CBN News
Channel's "Local Legends: Bandurria" in the Cinematography category
and a Bronze World Medal for the company's "To Love and To Serve"
category in the Station/Image Promotion category. "Local Legends:
Bandurria" follows the life and craft of a master guitar-maker in Pampanga,
while "To Love and To Serve" bares ABS-CBN commitment to the Filipino
nation through its products and services as well as a Kapamilya's love in
poetic justice.
