It
has been about a year, but many Filipinos still cannot forget the scars of the
Marawi siege that has almost tarnished a progressive city caused by terrorism.
While the city of Marawi is well on its way towards rehabilitation, those who were
victims of the siege have lived to tell the tale of how they manage to escape
the ongoing war and overcome their own struggles. One of these tales will be
told in an upcoming action-packed film that is set during the five-month long war
that rocked and almost torned a community apart.
Entitled
"Ang Misyon: A Marawi Siege Story", the movie deals with the events
that has been transpired in Mindanao last year, more particularly in the city
of Marawi. It revolves around Sajid Tumawil, a registered Muslim nurse who was
discovered by the military to become a member of an extremist group. Tumawil
will be portrayed by no less than Martin Escudero who is a product of a reality
television search and known for his rave performance in the hit Filipino indie
film "Zombadings: Patayin Sa Shokot Si Remington".
Joining
the interestingly intriguing cast for this thrilling movie are Rez Cortez, Lou
Veloso, Jordan Castillo, Tanya Gomez, Darius Razon, Cloyd Robinson, Mia
Mendiola, Jack Falcis, Bong Russo, Chamberlaine Uy, Al Flores, John Michael
Wagnon, Tim Sawyer, China Roces, and Juan Miguel Soriano.
