More Filipino households are starting to enjoy a clearer and more enjoyable viewing experience on their television screens through digital terrestrial television. In fact, it is legitimately evidenced by the results of surveys conducted by both Pulse Asia and Social Weather Station (SWS) throughout the month of March which makes much sense why those who have underestimated the new technology at first should make the shift before having second thoughts.

Based on the results of the two surveys, it is interesting for small-screen and tech-savvy enthusiasts like us to learn that more than half of the viewing population in Metro Manila have already made the switch through a digital TV box. The results also show that about 16 to 17 percent of households nationwide have already owned the said device which is very intriguing for us to understand since the ABS-CBN TV Plus is the first to become available commercially in our local shores since February 2015. This just proves that more households are beginning to indulge on the life-changing benefits that digital terrestrial television offer.

Aside from providing clearer picture and sound quality on any television set, ABS-CBN TV Plus also offers affordable pay-per-view (PPV) services and exclusive channels that cater to every member of the Filipino viewing household with no monthly fees or installation payments needed and at a very conveniently affordable price. With a strong sales of five million units and counting, it is without any doubts that ABS-CBN TV Plus remains the standard in offering the features and capabilities of digital free TV to the masses. On the other hand, it is eventually without question that ABS-CBN continues to be ahead among Philippine television stations in support of the national government's full implementation slated for 2023.

Such strong traction would also push Philippine television stations like GMA Network and Solar Entertainment Corporation to step up and bring their own game in the local market. In fact, these two companies are set to release their own digital TV devices that are set to be at par with ABS-CBN TV Plus and will even include intriguing features that only such devices can offer. On the other hand, others like BEAM and Eagle Broadcasting Corporation remain keen in improving their digital TV signal for the benefit of those who have made the shift. With that in mind, it looks like digital terrestrial television will have brighter days ahead with more Filipino households being urged to make the switch and enjoy new capabilities that would cope them in today's modern world in the near future.
