Cebuana Lhuiller, the largest microfinancial services company in the
Philippines, has formally opened its search for the Happiest Pinoy of 2018. Now
on its tenth year, the competition celebrates the Filipinos' indomitable spirit
of resiliency and positivity and honors those who best represent these values.
But this year will be different as it is slated to become bigger and better.
It is without question that the Philippines is one of the happiest
countries in the world as stated in different international surveys. Based on
these reports, many Filipinos are showing their own positive outlook in life
despite economic uncertainties, financial upheavals and even political
controversies happening in the country. Cebuana Lhuiller always believes that
Filipinos are the most resilient people in the world, and it is only fitting
for the company to honor and recognize their positivity and happiness amidst
life's toughest challenges through the Search For The Happiest Pinoy.
This year's Search For The Happiest Pinoy is poised to be the most
inclusive as it covers the following categories: youth, senior citizens, Overseas
Filipino Workers (OFWs), lingkod bayan, professionals,
Filipino workers, entrepreneurs, employees, persons with disabilities (PWD),
and the LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer) community. Third-party
nominations are not needed in this year's competition as those who are
interested in joining the search can participate by either SMS, online via www.happiest-pinoy.com/register.aspx or
submitting their application form at any of Cebuana's 2,200 branches
nationwide.
Cebuana Lhuiller and a panel of judges representing the academe and the
business community, as well as past Happiest Pinoy winners, will pick a finalist
from the applications in each category. These finalists will win Php50,000 each.
However, the Happiest Pinoy for 2018 will be picked among the ten category winners
and win a grand prize of Php2 million tax-free. The grand winner of Cebuana
Lhuiller's Search For The Happiest Pinoy 2018 will eventually join an exclusive
group of Happiest Pinoy winners which includes Winston Maxino (2009), Rommel Arellano
(2012), and Richardson Navor (2015) among others.
