Cashless transactions are starting to become growing trends in today's
modern world as more Filipinos make use of their mobile devices as their own
on-the-go virtual wallets for their physical and even online purchases whenever
they feel like it. At first, many mobile device users have thought that these virtual
wallets such as Paymaya and Gcash can only be theirs if they happen to be a
subscriber of a specific mobile network. However, times are changing with the
ongoing advent of modern trends and the continuing growth of mobile wallet
users in our local shores.
One case in point is GCash, the mobile wallet service of Globe Telecom.
For a long time, GCash has been embraced due to its convenient services and
engaging innovations such as the American Express® Virtual Pay and the
conversion of Globe prepaid load to GCash. But with strong competition like
Paymaya and Coins.ph, the people behind GCash feel that it is time for the
service to make a huge difference that would delight those who are starting to cope
in today's modern world and one major development has caught me by surprise and
awe.
Globe's GCash officially informed its users and non-users that it is
now available to subscribers of all mobile networks which is interestingly intriguing
for a mobile wallet service. On the other hand, it is a bit sensible
considering that Paymaya is also available to all major mobile networks. I couldn't
believe it at first when I first learned the news from a reliable local tech
blog. But it made sense to me after recently checking a conversation from
GCash's official Twitter account and feels that it is for the best interest of
anyone who wants to have a safe and reliable mobile wallet of his or her own
for cashless purchases.
