Two different stories of love have charmed and delighted many Filipino
movie buffs and would eventually gain strong traction in the Philippine box
office fresh from the phenomenal success of Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War
about two months ago. On one hand is an intriguing tale that comes with a
price, while the other is not just an ordinary typical love story of any regard
or matter. Anyway, let's get straight to the point.
Following its Php100 million gross in local cinemas after two weeks,
Star Cinema's "Kasal" has surprisingly entered the North American box
office charts in its opening weekend. The romantic drama flick starring Bea
Alonzo, Paulo Avelino and Derek Ramsay has earned more than US$329,000 in 57
cinemas across US and Canada last May 25-27, 2018 which is enough for the movie
to be placed 19th in the said charts. The movie tells the story of a high
school teacher entering the world of politics through her relationship with a
mayoralty candidate. Their relationship would be shaken with the return of the
teacher's ex-boyfriend who will do whatever it takes to bring her back even if
he exposes the true identity of her new one.

On the other hand, Viva Films' Sid and Aya: Not A Love Story continue
to maintain its strong performance in the local box office despite receiving
mixed reactions from local movie reviewers and it is legitimately evidenced by
its Php65 million gross after five days of showing. The movie's lead actress
Anne Curtis personally thanked her fans and movie buffs on social media as well
as her television show "It's Showtime" for their overwhelming support
and reception towards the movie. In this not-so ordinary love story, a
corporate executive (played by Dingdong Dantes) hired someone to cope with his
loneliness. If this simple plot is not satisfactory, then watch its official
trailer below to find out more.
Two different stories of love featuring characters of different
personalities have already captured the hearts of the Filipino audience and
gained their own prominence in the box office with their own sense and charm. At
the very least, either of the two could be one's inspiration for future
newlyweds to keep their relationship strong until the time comes for them to
bond together in marriage.
