The Lipa City Community Park has been regarded as one of the best
places for families to have fun and spend the day and for individuals who want
to get rid of the stress from work and of the city life. It was indeed a
one-of-a-kind tourist destination in the province of Batangas which was once a
sports complex when it was publicly opened way back. However, in recent years,
the park is almost on the verge of being forgotten.
The community park has steadily lost its charm due to its inconsistency
in maintenance and most particularly the carelessness of those who have visited
it. Throughout the occurrence of these situations, it is good to know that
there are those who continue to maintain the charm of the park such as the morning
joggers who have made the place part of their early morning itinerary. Fortunately
for us, these situations are now already being addressed by the person who happens
to be behind the revival of the community park in the first place and that
would be former Lipa City mayor and now congresswoman Vilma Santos-Recto.
During her term as mayor of the fine city, what was known as the Lipa
City Sports Complex was completely converted into a beautifully landscaped park
with an Olympic-sized pool, amphitheater, playground, courts and a fishpond.
Twelve years after its conversion, the Lipa City Community Park is beginning to
be rehabilitated. Possibly due to be completed by the end of the year, the park
will soon have an astounding grand entrance, glass roof corridor, front
landscaping, parkour area, racetrack, a new playground set and a skateboard
park. But that is only the beginning.

In 2019, the newly-rehabilitated community park will soon have more
amenities which includes a covered amphitheater, covered swimming pool, floor
fountain, a mini football field, cabanas and renovated courts that should delight
more families and even friends and loved ones. Furthermore, the renovated park is
slated to be enjoyed by anyone including those who have pets. These
improvements and new additions should make one feel that the new Lipa City
Community Park is entering a new phase in its life. Besides, studies from
health blogs and websites state that clean and beautiful parks are necessary
for one city to foster mental, physical and spiritual health of individuals and
families.
