National ID System

Philippine president Rodrigo Duterte has recently signed into law the highly-anticipated National Identification Act of 2018 which provides every Filipino resident and alien a mandatory identification number that will be used to perform government transactions as well as those in private institutions such as banks, lending companies, and pawnshops. This intriguing development is one good news that is worth the wait especially those within and below the so-called poverty line.

What can millions of Filipinos expect from the National ID System once it began its full implementation by the end of the year? Well, for starters, the National ID which comes with one's personal information and a permamently-owned unique number may be used to apply for important documents such as passport and NBI clearance, open a savings or checking account in banks, and so much more. What if you forgot your National ID while on the way to fulfill what is in your itinerary for the day? Well, as long as you remember the number written in the ID, then you'll be just fine without it. Otherwise, you need to take time and make up for what you've lost.

Anyway, the best thing about the National ID System is that Filipino citizens can get their ID and unique number for free and they need to present a birth certificate for the application. Those who want to have their own National ID but forgot to bring their birth certificate may need to wait for further updates. On the other hand, those who are taking advantage of and becoming abusive of using the said system will be punished as stated in the law. You may have to research on what you need to know about the National Identification Act of 2018 before making the decision to have one for your own reasons.

I may not be considered to be a tourism advocate for the city of Lipa although my online blog feature fresh stories about my hometown, but I am thinking of forging my aspirations to become one after the recent launch of the city's newest tourism campaign dubbed as #IbaSaLipa. Striving to promote Lipa as a major tourism destination, the Lipa City Museum and Tourism Council under the helm of its president Minnie Atienza officially launched its new tagline, logo and jingle on the city's new tourism campaign as well as the Lipa Lifestyle Magazine that chronicles the finest that the City For All Seasons can offer at an event being held at the SM City Lipa Event Center last July 27, 2018.

Although I'm not sure if this would help the city strive further when it comes to tourism, I believe that it is one of the council's best efforts in making the city one for domestic and international tourists to visit amidst the evolving innovations of today's modern world. However, among those that has been introduced to a number of tourism advocates, the Lipa Lifestyle Magazine is one endeavor I'm not interested in probably due to the cost of its maiden issue which is a huge disappointment for me assuming that it is supposed to due out for free. Oh well, to each is own as one would say. With that in mind, I wish the new #IbaSaLipa campaign the best of luck in the near future.
