Many shoppers, foodies and travelers from different parts of the
country are feeling ecstatic about the upcoming opening of AboitizLand's The
Outlets at Lipa which is slated to offer a different kind of shopping and dining
experience with some of the finest names and brands coming suit, but it seems
like there is one brand that dares to up its own ante by getting on ahead of
the mall's anticipated opening next year. And that would be no less than Choobi
Choobi, a fine dining restaurant that offers the finest and probably the most
affordable seafoods available.
All kidding aside, when I learned about it from The Outlets At Lipa's
official Facebook page and its official media partner Hello Lipa, there is no
question that the available seafood dishes in the newly-engaging restaurant are
freshly served for foodies especially those who are dying to taste some
seafood. However, judging from the price range of some of the products being
served, I don't see them as affordable as I thought they would be with the
exception of one which is very intriguing to try and that would be the
so-called Golden Pompuan (Php90 per 100 grams) which is actually considered the
king of fish steamed in soy sauce and complemented with a cup of rice.
Despite what I think of the affordability of these offers, I could only
pick a few that could truly gain my interest and my taste buds. One of them is
named after Spongebob SquarePants' best friend Patrick Starr only to realize
that they are just scallops rubbed with butter, cheese and garlic on top before
they are baked in an oven. Anyone who is keen on ordering Patrick Starr's Baked
Scallops (Php295) may have to consider complementing it with rice just to be
sure. Then there is shrimp in the bag (Php430 per pound) where they're just freshly
cooked and delightfully tasty shrimps but their companion sauce depends on what
satisfies you. At least these will give you some glimpses of what to expect at
Choobi Choobi.
