More young and old fighting game fans and enthusiasts around the world
are starting to feel ecstatic about the highly-anticipated release of the
latest installment of one of Nintendo's flagship franchises - Super Smash
Brothers Ultimate for the Nintendo Switch. Just about two months after its
impressive presentation at E3 where it introduced the inklings from Splatoon
and Metroid's Ridley as its first new characters, Nintendo has officially
announced a unique and surprisingly delightful set of new characters which is
set to add more flavor to the game's strong lineup.
Among the new stalwarts are Fire Emblem's Chrom and Metroid's Dark
Samus which would probably be playable as Echo Fighters, Donkey Kong Country's
main antagonist King K. Rool, Castlevania's Simon Belmont and Richter Belmont
from the rare Castlevania game Dracula X for the NEC PC Engine Super CD.
Although the characters are promising enough to delight any video game fan who
wants to play and fight as their favorite character while there are those who
are still not happy about not including Waluigi in the game, it looks like the
Belmonts from Castlevania are already gaining a strongly undaunting reception
from Smash fans and even the online world.
And its quick reception on these new characters come from a 26-minute
video presented during the Nintendo Direct event and recently uploaded on
Nintendo's social media channels. At some point during the mentioned video,
many fans were literally shocked and almost saddened by the untimely death of
Luigi inside a mysterious mansion considering that his soul was about to be
taken away after being scythed by Castlevania's Death only to be saved by the two
Belmonts. However, while Luigi's soul was about to return to his shell, a strange
and sonewhat scary ghostly figure appeared in front of Luigi through the
windows.
Fortunately though, Nintendo was quick to ease the literal sadness of
gaming-centric netizens and announce on social media that Luigi is alive, fine
and kicking. I could assume that his soul quickly returned to his body and ran
outside the mansion in it after seeing the ghostly figure, but at least we can
rest easy and not worry about the possible outcomes when it comes to Mario's
brother. Anyway, if you've watched the video about Luigi right now during your
spare or free time, you may convince yourself to feel more ecstatic and make
Smash Ultimate and its new stalwarts your own ultimate Christmas gift this year.
