The
longest holiday season in the world has already kicked off, and what better way
to kick off the long Christmas season this year is to make something special
and exciting for kids and kids at heart to enjoy. And that is what CNN
Philippines did when it officially launched its own weekend morning kids block
on the very first day of September to the surprise of those who have tuned in
to the channel. Enter CNN Philippines Junior.
Though
I was a bit surprised about its new program block like they did, it is
literally a pretty bold move for CNN Philippines to stage something that could
make the channel accessible for everyone to enjoy and I think it already
succeeded in my case considering that it would surely benefit millions of households
who cannot afford to apply for a pay TV service or have made the shift to digital
free TV for better and more enjoyable viewing for everyone at home. And since
Christmas is always for the children, I think many young Filipinos will have
new reasons why they should wake up every weekend morning and watch CNN
Philippines on their television sets before their usual grind.
Anyway,
what does CNN Philippines' new weekend morning kids block have to offer for
children to enjoy? Well, judging from my perspective, it reminds me of when CNN
Philippines was just 9TV with its own morning weekend kids block, but the new
block is different from the old one if you talk about content. The block
features the Junior Edition of CNN Philippines' flagship daily news program
Newsroom with a set of young newsmakers handling the show, a child-friendly
infotainment show named Kiddo, and four of the finest cartoon shows from no
less than CNN's sister channel Cartoon Network - Adventure Time, Ben 10 (2016),
The Powerpuff Girls (2015), and We Bare Bears in case you missed its first
weekend.
CNN
Philippines remains one of the finest news channels in Philippine television
today, but I guess you will realize that there are times when the channel has
to make bold moves for the indulgement of every Filipino household - young and
old alike - and that is probably why I like the channel in the first place from
its inception. So, wake up to an exciting Saturday and Sunday morning and enjoy
a bunch of programs that can bring out the inner child in you starting at 7:00
am only on CNN Philippines Junior.
